Services does not currently have a specific cycle for tree inspection however
we are working towards it.  We currently use the Wildlife/Danger Tree
Assessor certification for Parks and Recreation sites developed by the Wildlife
Tree Committee of British Columbia and are collecting some baseline data on
trees in specific parks and trails.  We hope to build this up to a system
which will lead to regular monitoring of trees along trails as well as
private/public boundaries.  We have implemented this into a GIS database to
aid that return cycle inspection as the program grows.</span></font></p>

defects are tagged gps,d and assessed according to the above noted
system.  There are many assessment methods out there but we determined
that the Wildlife Tree Committee of BC system, which was developed in cooperation
with Work Safe BC, BC Parks and Ministry of Forests and Range, was the best fit
for our natural spaces and particularly addressed the wildlife values. </span></font></p>
