Innovations Inc., Mississauga, Ontario and Andy Kenney Ph.D. RPF, Faculty of
Forestry , University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario . <br>

This web-based session will demonstrate a successful model for strategic urban
forest management planning. The model incorporates critical aspects of active
adaptive management for an integrated and comprehensive plan over a 20 year
planning horizon. Building on the original work of Clark, Metheny, Cross and
Wake in 1997, a revised and enhanced set of criteria and indicators is proposed
as a guide to the plan development as well as tracking the success of its
implementation. A case study of the Town of Oakville, Ontario, will be used to
illustrate one application of the approach.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
