partnership with Tree Canada that includes title sponsorship of its flagship
Green Streets program over the next three years. Tree Canada is a
not-for-profit organization that has planted more than 76 million trees across
the country since its inception and manages the ongoing care and maintenance of
all of its plantings. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

Streets is the only national tree program that works with communities, and it
fits perfectly with our goal to preserve and enhance the environment at a

of the Environment Foundation. “Ultimately, this is about bringing the
‘green’ back to Main Street – celebrating the health of

grants for planting and maintaining trees this year which is timely, given that

Green Streets: How it Works <o:p></o:p></span></b></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Since
1994, the Green Streets program has provided funding to more than 370 Canadian
municipalities to plant and maintain trees. The TD Green Streets program is
open to all municipalities and First Nations communities who apply for funding
to plant and maintain trees (as part of the launch, the program will be
expanded to include Business Improvement Associations in Toronto and
Vancouver). Based on the community size and need, grants of up to $15,000 are
given with a maximum of 50 per cent of the grant allocated towards the cost of
tree planting. The remainder can be used for inventory, maintenance and
educational activities. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

1994, le programme <i>Ma rue, mes arbres</i> a fourni du financement à plus de
370 municipalités au Canada pour la plantation et l’entretien
d’arbres. Le programme <i>Ma rue, mes arbres TD</i> s’adresse
à toutes les municipalités et aux collectivités des Premières nations qui font
une demande de financement pour la plantation et l’entretien
d’arbres (dans le cadre du lancement, le programme inclura également les
associations pour le développement commercial à Toronto et à Vancouver). Les
collectivités reçoivent une subvention pouvant aller jusqu’à

Canada est un organisme à but non lucratif créé pour <span

Gagnant du Prix canadien de l’environnement (en 2007),
l’organisme Arbres Canada incite les sociétés canadiennes, les agences
gouvernementales et les particuliers à appuyer la plantation d’arbres, le
verdissement des cours d’écoles et à faire d’autres efforts afin de
sensibiliser les Canadiens aux avantages de la plantation et de
l’entretien des arbres. Jusqu’à maintenant, plus de 76 millions d’arbres
ont été plantés, plus de 450 cours d’écoles ont été reverdies et Arbres
Canada a organisé huit conférences nationales sur les forêts urbaines. On peut

de dollars en appui à 899 projets. La Fondation reçoit les dons mensuels
de milliers de donateurs et le Groupe Financier Banque TD verse plus de 1
million de dollars par année. La Banque TD assume aussi tous les frais
d’administration, ce qui assure que chaque dollar donné à la Fondation est
utilisé en totalité pour financer des projets liés à l’environnement et à
