Well you do. The job activity of arborists is already covered by the trade of Landscape Gardener in Alberta. Unfortunately, arborist instruction it has been so watered down over the years and the program is so general and voluntary, that this trade has lost track of the needs it was designed to serve. I am presently on two different provincial apprenticeship committees, hoping to rectify this problem by making the trade mandatory, and eventually splitting out the Arborist trade as a separate entity. The work is excruciatingly slow, as the main committee only meets once per year.
