<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">The City of Coquitlam very occasionally allows residents to hire a private contractor to prune a City-owned tree. Generally, this occurs on un-maintained, un-inventoried City trees which were planted by a homeowner
 on City property at some point. It is on a case-by-case basis, with a City arborist engaging with the resident to agree on a pruning regime and a contractor. There is no roster list, but we encourage the homeowner to use our City contractor.  In almost all
 cases, the homeowner bears the cost of the service.  <o:p></o:p></span></p>

 City trees as an option to expedite the tree maintenance process. In other words, if the homeowner didn’t want to wait for the City to provide the maintenance of the city tree (which could take between 6 months to a year or more to complete), they could have
 the option to call a tree care contractor directly and theoretically, have the work done much sooner.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
