lancé un <a href="http://www.nserc-crsng.gc.ca/Media-Media/ProgramNewsDetails-NouvellesDesProgrammesDetails_fra.asp?ID=1020" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">
nouvel appel de financement pour la recherche sur les changements climatiques</a>; prière de diffuser cet appel à l’ensemble de nos réseaux.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:10.0pt; line-height:115%"><span lang="FR-CA">Cette initiative appuie nos efforts déployés dans le cadre du
<i>Plan scientifique ciblé du gouvernement fédéral en matière de changements climatiques
</i>et vise à renforcer les efforts de collaboration entre les décideurs et les scientifiques du gouvernement fédéral et le milieu universitaire afin d’accroître le volume de données scientifiques accessibles pour orienter la lutte contre les changements climatiques
dans le contexte du <i><u><span style="color:#0563C1"><a href="https://www.canada.ca/fr/services/environnement/meteo/changementsclimatiques/cadre-pancanadien/plan-changement-climatique.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><span style="color:#0563C1">Cadre
pancanadien sur la croissance propre et les changements climatiques</span></a></span></u></i>.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:10.0pt; line-height:115%"><span lang="FR-CA">Le financement de 4,8 millions de dollars contribuera aux objectifs de recherche suivants :

<li class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="margin-bottom:10.0pt; line-height:115%"><b><span lang="FR-CA">Chaleur </span></b><span lang="FR-CA">:<b>
</b>contribuer à protéger la santé des Canadiens en favorisant l’innovation dans les technologies de refroidissement écoénergétiques, notamment les technologies qui exploitent le potentiel de refroidissement des infrastructures naturelles;</span></li><li class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="margin-bottom:10.0pt; line-height:115%"><b><span lang="FR-CA">Forêts </span></b><span lang="FR-CA">: accélérer le développement des connaissances sur les services écosystémiques dans le contexte des changements climatiques,
notamment le rôle des forêts et des arbres comme infrastructures naturelles dans l’accroissement de la résilience aux changements climatiques, l’atténuation des changements climatiques, la santé et le bien‑être des humains et la promotion de la biodiversité
dans les régions urbaines et rurales; </span></li><li class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="margin-bottom:10.0pt; line-height:115%"><b><span lang="FR-CA">Cycle du carbone </span></b><span lang="FR-CA">: améliorer les connaissances relatives à la dynamique du carbone dans les écosystèmes du Canada, en particulier
sur la façon de quantifier, de protéger et d’améliorer les puits naturels de carbone.</span></li></ul>

launch new funding for climate change research</a> and I ask that you please circulate this call widely to your networks.</span></p>

<i>Targeted Federal Climate Change Science Plan </i>and<i> </i>aims to strengthen collaborative efforts among federal policy-makers and scientists and the academic community to increase the scientific information available to
<span style="color:#1F497D">inform </span>climate action in the context of the <a href="https://www.canada.ca/en/services/environment/weather/climatechange/pan-canadian-framework/climate-change-plan.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">
<i>Pan-Canadian Framework on Clean Growth and Climate Change</i></a>. </span></p>

</span><b><span lang="EN-US">Forests</span></b><span lang="EN-US">: accelerates knowledge of ecosystem services in the context of climate change, such as the role of forests and trees as natural infrastructure in increasing climate resilience, mitigating climate
change, human health and wellbeing, and promoting biodiversity in urban or rural landscapes; and</span></p>

</span><b><span lang="EN-US">Carbon cycle</span></b><span lang="EN-US">: to improve understanding of carbon dynamics in Canadian ecosystems, with a focus on how to quantify, protect, and enhance natural carbon sinks.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">I would also like to highlight that under this initiative we are piloting the requirement for academic researchers to partner with federal policy-makers and/or scientists. As a result<span style="color:#1F497D">,</span>
