<div>The Greenspace Alliance has connected with the <a href="https://www.uoguelph.ca/arboretum/researchandstewardship/elmrecovery">Elm Recovery Project </a>of Ontario (housed at U of Guelph) and we are gathering details on the tree so it may be registered in that project's database.<br></div>

<div>Paul Johanis, chair of the Greenspace Alliance has written two letters in the last 24 hours to officials in the two federal bodies that are responsible for deciding the fate of the elm tree:<br></div>

<div>Next week promises to be crucial, with the group issuing another press release on Monday and letters to a variety of politicians. It's possible an opposition member of parliament will raise the issue of the tree's heritage value in the House of Commons. Stay tuned!<br></div>
