Much of what I gather, Mark, is from looking at tree stumps</div><div class="">of the same species. Like others I agree that age is not a huge factor in caring</div><div class="">for the tree. On the other hand, I do think its important to know the average </div><div class="">and maximum lifespan of a particular species to determine</div><div class="">it’s appropriateness to the location that it’s in. For maximum age you</div><div class="">might have a maple (<i class="">Acer</i>) at 300, or birch (<i class="">Betula</i>) at 60.</div><div class="">Site by site, case by case, tree by tree.
