<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA">We hope you enjoy the use of the CANUFNET list-serve. This tool is part of the Canadian Urban Forest Network (CUFN) and t</span>he objectives of the CUFN are to build value by helping and empowering those who practice
urban forestry; bring together those who are interested in urban forestry; facilitate the exchange of information about urban forestry in Canada; and increase awareness about the urgent issues facing Canada’s urban forests.

<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The CUFN advocates for urban forests across Canada under the guidance and leadership of the CUFN Steering Committee which is comprised of representatives from British Columbia, Prairies, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada.<span lang="FR-CA"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The current representative for the Atlantic region is Heather Fraser from the City of Moncton. She will be retiring in the spring of 2022 and we are looking for someone who could replace her as the Atlantic representative on the CUFN Steering
Committee. We are looking for someone who works and lives in one of the four Atlantic provinces, with a background of experience in urban forestry, who has a strong network across the Atlantic provinces, and is comfortable with communications.
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The main roles and responsibilities of the representatives are:</p>
<ul style="margin-top:0in" type="disc">
<li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">Attend four quarterly meetings (via conference call or video call) of 1.5 hours per year;</li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">Share regional updates and activities at each meeting;</li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">Provide input on other projects and documents depending on CUFN priorities (e.g. survey questions, communications and outreach tools)</li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">Plan and coordinate regional urban forestry workshops in the alternate years of the biennial Canadian Urban Forest Conference (CUFC)</li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">Write 2-3 articles per year for the CUFN listserv and Tree Canada’s website outlining current activities and events in the region;</li></ul>
