We’ve used ace caps in the past briefly but that was close to 20 years ago. The wounding for an application is extreme in my opinion, the caps are large and there are many required for a treatment. <div dir="ltr">In Canada, Acecap 97 (PCP# 21568) is only registered for use on birch for the control of aphids (and specifically only green aphids, which is bizarre), and for birch leafminer. I'm not sure I would use such an invasive procedure, with an organophosphate insecticide for either pest, which rarely threaten the mortality of the birch.<div><br></div><div>On linden, it's only registered for use against elm spanworm. </div><div><br></div><div>The City of Edmonton did look into Acecaps many years ago when looking for something to use against cottony psyllid, but we wound up modifying the label of Orthene 75 with an injection instruction instead.
