<p>Storm damage to trees is often gut wrenching. But, I suspect that
some of the damage would have occurred regardless of what pruning
had been done in the past. It is not possible to predict every
limb failure in every circumstance, and no amount of cabling,
bracing, pruning etc will make every tree resistant to ice storms
or other extreme weather events.</p>
