outcomes is not always evident or clear. This, among other challenges, often leads to a gap or disconnect between science and policy outcomes.

<p style="font-size:11pt; font-family:Calibri,sans-serif; margin:0"><span class="x_ContentPasted0" style="font-size:12pt">A team from Concordia University and Environment and Climate Change Canada are undertaking an online survey to assess the ability of, and
challenges for, working cross-sectorally towards bridging the science-policy gap in Canada as it is related to urban nature-based solutions. Urban nature-based solutions are conservation, management, restoration policy or action for the natural environment,
with the goals of improving biodiversity, ecosystem functions, and human well-being in urban or urbanizing landscapes. The results from this survey will help identify current strengths and weaknesses on how we currently work and communicate across sectors
to mobilize science towards policy action, as well as guide scientific research by the wealth of community and practitioners on-the-ground knowledge.

chooses, and we welcome all levels of involvement. Participants may choose others within their network for advice on information needed to complete the survey, or simply fill in the information that is available to them.

by experts such as yourself will be discussed at a workshop and published in the supplemental materials of a resulting publication. The current strengths and weaknesses of cross-sectoral networks, as well the challenges to work and communicate across sectors
(and solutions that have been proven to bridge the gaps) will help identify priorities for each sector on how to improve closing the science-policy gap and inform future initiatives with this goal.

en ligne afin d’évaluer la capacité de collaboration intersectorielle, et les obstacles qui entravent un tel travail, pour combler le fossé entre politiques et science pour des solutions basées sur la nature dans les villes canadiennes. Les solutions urbaines
basées sur la nature sont des mesures politiques ou des efforts de conservation, de gestion ou de restauration de l’environnement naturel qui visent à renforcer la biodiversité, le fonctionnement des écosystèmes et le bien-être des humains dans les zones urbaines
ou en cours d’urbanisation. Les résultats du sondage contribueront à cerner les forces et les faiblesses actuelles dans le travail et la communication intersectoriels lorsque vient le temps de traduire les connaissances scientifiques en politiques concrètes.
De plus, ils guideront la recherche scientifique en exploitant le riche savoir de la communauté et des praticiens et praticiennes sur le terrain.

les difficultés liées à la collaboration et à la communication intersectorielles (de même que les solutions éprouvées pour y remédier) aideront à définir des priorités pour chaque secteur afin de mieux combler le fossé et à orienter les initiatives futures
poursuivant un objectif similaire. </span></p>
