Dear Colleagues,

One of the Foundation’s senior program officers, Janice Astbury, is leaving
McConnell in August to live and study in the UK. As a result, the Foundation
is seeking her replacement. We are looking for a mid-career person with
experience leading change, managing organizations and designing innovative
programs. Although a professional background in the voluntary sector is
preferred, we are prepared to consider applicants from the public or private
sectors with extensive involvement in community initiatives.

While deep knowledge of one or more areas of our work is desirable, we take
care to organize program officer’s portfolios so that they manage a diverse
range of grants and initiatives. The successful applicant must be prepared
to locate in Montreal, and have verbal fluency in both official languages.
Excellent writing skills, intellectual curiosity and demonstrated ability to
manage complex programs are also required.

We would appreciate your circulating notice of this upcoming vacancy to your
personal and professional networks. We plan to complete the hiring process
by the beginning of July, and to have someone in place by the beginning of
August.

Une chargée de programmes principale de la fondation, Janice Astbury, quitte
McConnell à la fin d’août pour s’établir au Royaume-Uni et y poursuivre des
études. La fondation souhaite, par conséquent, lui trouver un(e)
remplaçant(e). Nous recherchons une personne en mi-carrière avec expérience
dans la gestion d’organismes et de programmes novateurs. Des antécédents
professionnels dans le secteur bénévole seraient un atout, mais nous sommes
prêts à considérer les candidats issus des secteurs public ou privé
attestant d’un engagement de longue date dans des initiatives
communautaires.



Bien qu’une connaissance approfondie d’un ou de plusieurs de nos domaines
d’action soit à souhaiter, nous veillons à confier à nos chargés de
programmes des dossiers leur permettant de gérer un éventail diversifié de
subventions et d’initiatives. La personne retenue travaillera à Montréal et
devra parler couramment les deux langues officielles. Une aptitude marquée
pour la communication écrite, la curiosité intellectuelle et une capacité
manifeste de gérer des programmes complexes sont aussi exigées.
