In Toronto we have an opportunity to play our part in stopping tar sands expansion by stopping Line 9 - a 38 year old pipeline built for regular oil which is set to transport tar sands dilbit and fracked Bakken crude from Sarnia to Montreal. Due to its contents, the pipeline has a 90% likelihood of rupture, threatening the most densely populated corridor in the country, including 18 Indigenous communities who have not been properly consulted. Not only does Line 9 put at risk drinking water, sensitive ecosystems, and human health in Ontario, it will allow for tar sands expansion which will further poison downstream Indigenous communities, accelerate climate change, exacerbate extreme weather conditions, and divert resources from green job alternatives.<br><a href="https://www.facebook.com/events/1412880168983337/?ref_dashboard_filter=upcoming">https://www.facebook.com/events/1412880168983337/?ref_dashboard_filter=upcoming</a> </span></font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" face="'Times New Roman'"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 13px;"><br></span></font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" face="'Times New Roman'"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 13px;">---------------------------------------<br>---------------------------------------</span></font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" face="'Times New Roman'"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 13px;"><br></span></font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" face="'Times New Roman'"><font class="Apple-style-span" size="5" color="#e86c00"><b>Decolonizing & Revitalizing the Heart</b></font><br><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 13px;">Saturday, May 10, 1 - 5 pm</span><br></font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" face="'Times New Roman'"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 13px;">Beit Zatoun, 612 Markham (Bloor and Bathurst)<br></span></font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" face="'Times New Roman'"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 13px;">Suggested sliding scale donation $20-$25 or PWYC<br>Empathy for self and for others as a way to be more effective social justice activists.
