Become aware of and analyze his/her own value orientations and his/her feelings about people and the problems they bring to social agencies.
5. Be able to recognize and identify general behaviour patterns, and their significance in the client's current manner of trying to deal with situations.
6. Participate with clients in the process of setting and evaluating goals.
7. Gain an appreciation of the impact of such problems as poor housing, financial dependency, delinquency, family breakdown, mental illness upon individuals, families and communities.
8. Demonstrate the capacity to advocate for clients in either verbal or written form.
9. Demonstrate initiative within the agency to enhance student’s learning objectives.

In the achievement of these objectives, the student would have the opportunity to assume responsibility for productive tasks within the agency.
Implicit in the above goals is the student's ability to apply knowledge, theory and understanding derived from course content.
These goals are seen as a progression, their application and attainment occurring over the field placement periods.
