<b>mental health and homelessness</b> under the Homelessness Knowledge Development (HKD) funding stream of the Homelessness Partnering Strategy (HPS). Mental Health was one of the key focus areas identified in the responses to the Questionnaire we issued last
May. The total amount of available funding is $800,000, with a maximum of $80,000 for each funded project. The deadline for applications is
<b>June 19, 2012</b>.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";mso-fareast-language:KO"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";mso-fareast-language:KO">The HPS seeks to fund research projects on
<b>evidence-based promising practices </b>in order to provide communities with the tools that they need to prevent or reduce homelessness for those with mental health issues. These practices should account for the diversity of the homeless population with mental
health issues so that communities can tailor programs to their local needs. Applicants must define how communities are active partners with the projects and demonstrate that their research is relevant to the community. This CFP has been developed in close
collaboration with the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC). It is designed to generate projects that will complement the work of the MHCC and is consistent with the Mental Health Strategy for Canada launched on May 8, 2012. For more information, please

<b>fondées sur des données probantes</b> afin de fournir aux collectivités les outils dont ils ont besoin pour prévenir et réduire l’itinérance chez les personnes atteintes de problèmes mentaux. Ces pratiques doivent tenir compte de la diversité de la population
des sans-abri souffrant de problèmes mentaux pour que les collectivités puissent adapter les programmes à leurs besoins locaux. Les soumissionnaires devront définir de quelle façon les collectivités participeront activement à leur projet et démontrer que leur
projet sera utile à la collectivité. Cet appel de propositions a été développé en étroite collaboration avec la Commission de la santé mentale du Canada (CSMC). Il est conçu pour générer des projets de recherches complémentaires qui viendront appuyer le travail
