Following a submission to the Liberal Party of Ontario from ECC, Premiere Kathleen Wynne issued a public assignment to the Minister of Community and Social Services (MCSS), Helena Jaczek, to “Seek support from the federal government where their action is required to help transform the social assistance system, including working together to provide services to vulnerable Ontarians”.<br> <br>Since that time, ECC working group members have met with the Assistant Deputy Minister of MCSS, Karen Chan, to discuss the need for better research in Ontario on waiting list numbers, support needs, and spending as well as collaboration with the federal government to make new funding available to the disability supports system.
