<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA">Jacques Legault, psychologue certifié, fera un exposé intitulé
<b>« Je ne veux pas en parler » : les hommes et la santé mentale ».<o:p></o:p></b></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA" style="color:black"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA" style="color:black">M. Legault est psychologue clinicien agréé en Ontario et au Québec, superviseur clinique et formateur. Il travaille dans la région d’Ottawa-Gatineau et se spécialise dans la santé mentale et les traumatismes
des hommes. Dans le cadre de sa présentation multimédia, il fournira un aperçu de la façon dont les garçons, dans leur développement, sont socialisés pour devenir des hommes à partir de contraintes rigides se rattachant à la masculinité. Il parlera aussi d’exemples
de cas, d’interventions concrètes et d’orientations futures en matière de politiques et de programmes.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA">M. Legault travaille depuis plus de 30 ans dans le domaine de la psychologie masculine. Il a commencé sa carrière à titre d’éducateur et de guide en nature auprès de garçons perturbés. En tant que psychologue clinicien
spécialisé dans le travail auprès des garçons et des hommes victimes de violence sexuelle et de traumatismes historiques, il a mis au point des programmes communautaires novateurs pour les hommes et leurs familles. Il a aussi sensibilisé beaucoup de professionnels
de la santé et de la santé mentale aux problèmes de santé mentale chez les hommes grâce à ses nombreux ateliers de formation et groupes de supervision clinique.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p style="background:white"><span lang="FR-CA" style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"">« La masculinité accorde beaucoup d’importance au monde extérieur plutôt qu’intérieur. Elle prédispose ainsi les hommes à maîtriser leurs états émotifs
en contrôlant l’environnement externe. En tant qu’idéologie, la masculinité peut monter les hommes contre les hommes et les hommes contre les femmes et, en bout de ligne, l’homme contre la nature, source de toute vie. Comme toutes les idéologies, affirme M.
Legault, la masculinité peut faire l’objet d’un examen approfondi, d’un débat, d’un mouvement et d’un changement au moyen d’un dialogue honnête et engagé, d’où l’impératif moral et thérapeutique d’en parler. »<o:p></o:p></span></p>
