<p><font size=3 face="Arial">On September 30^th, the Honourable
Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development
and the Minister responsible for CMHC, announced that CMHC is now ready
to accept applications under the Affordable Rental Innovation Fund. </font>
<br>
<br><font size=3 face="Arial">The Fund, part of Budget 2016 and administered
by CMHC, totals $200M to help create new affordable rental units over 5
years – reducing the number of Canadians living in housing need and the
reliance on long-term government subsidies.</font>
<br>
<br><font size=3 face="Arial">Funding will be used to test innovative approaches
such as unique housing designs and financial models to lower the costs
and risks of financing affordable rental housing projects.  </font>
<p><font size=3 face="Arial">CMHC is looking for your unique ideas, new
funding models and innovative building techniques to revolutionize the
rental housing sector.  </font>

<p><font size=3 face="Arial">Le 30 septembre, au sommet sur le logement
à Toronto, l’honorable Jean-Yves Duclos, ministre de la Famille, des Enfants
et du Développement social et ministre responsable de la SCHL, a annoncé
que la SCHL était maintenant prête à recevoir les demandes de financement
dans le cadre du Fonds d’innovation pour le logement locatif abordable.

<br><font size=3 face="Arial">Le Fonds, qui fait partie du budget de 2016
et est administré par la SCHL, est doté d’une enveloppe totale de 200
millions de dollars et vise à aider à créer des logements locatifs abordables
sur cinq ans – réduisant ainsi le nombre de Canadiens ayant des besoins
en matière de logement ainsi que la dépendance aux subventions gouvernementales
à long terme.</font>

<br><font size=3 face="Arial">L’argent servira à mettre à l’essai des
approches novatrices comme des concepts de maisons et des modèles financiers
uniques afin de réduire les coûts et les risques liés au financement d’ensembles
de logements locatifs abordables. </font>
<p><font size=3 face="Arial">La SCHL est à la recherche d’idées uniques,
de nouveaux modèles de financement et de techniques novatrices de construction
afin de révolutionner le secteur du logement locatif.  </font>
