<p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><span lang="FR-CA">Le mercredi 22 mars, 2017, le gouvernement du Canada a annoncé le budget de 2017. Dans le cadre de la Stratégie nationale sur le logement, le budget de 2017 propose d’investir un total de 2,1 milliards
de dollars sur 11 ans afin d’élargir le financement de la Stratégie des partenariats de lutte contre l’itinérance et de le prolonger au-delà de 2018-2019, lorsque le financement actuel doit prendre fin.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white">On Wednesday March 22nd, 2017, the Government of Canada announced Budget 2017. As part of the National Housing Strategy, the Budget proposes a total investment of $2.1 billion over the next 11 years to expand and
extend funding for the Homelessness Partnering Strategy beyond 2018-19, when current funding is scheduled to end. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white">This new investment builds on funding provided through Budget 2016 of $111.8 million over two years ($57.9 million in 2016-17 and $53.9 million in 2017-18). Budget 2017 also proposes to maintain the program’s expanded
2017-2018 funding level for 2018-2019.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white">The Budget also highlighted that over the coming year, engagement would be undertaken with key stakeholders, provinces, territories, and Indigenous and Inuit partners on how the Homelessness Partnering Strategy
can be redesigned to better reduce and prevent homelessness across Canada. This engagement will be guided by the work of an Advisory Committee of experts and stakeholders in the field of homelessness to be chaired by Parliamentary Secretary Adam Vaughan (Housing
and Urban Affairs). <span lang="EN-US">It is anticipated the members of the Advisory Committee will be announced in spring 2017.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
