the region has done to get us to where we are today. Increasing and evolving scientific evidence supports wearing a mask when in enclosed public spaces as an important measure in reducing COVID-19 transmission, while the risk of rising rates of infection continues.

<p class="Default"><span style="font-size:11.5pt">Accordingly, today, Dr. Vera Etches, Medical Officer of Health for Ottawa Public Health, along with Medical Officers of Health from Leeds, Grenville, Lanark Counties Public Health Unit, Eastern Ontario Health
Unit, and Renfrew County and District Health Unit announced <a href="https://ottawa.ca/en/news/local-health-units-announce-regional-approach-mandatory-masks">
a regional approach to the use of masks</a> in their respective jurisdictions. This is in follow-up to

Gens d’affaires de la Capitale Nationale, Dr. Etches has issued instructions to business owners, operators and employers in the City of Ottawa to implement mandatory mask policies for enclosed public spaces. These instructions are effective as of July 7, 12:01am
and are issued under the authority of the <i>Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act
