<p class="xdefault" style="background:white"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">As we move into August, the City is making substantial progress in our ongoing pandemic response</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:#1F497D">
</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">and vaccination efforts. Due to the collective efforts of our community, we are all starting to put our minds towards the future. Most recently, </span><span style="color:black"><a href="https://ottawa.ca/en/news/municipal-state-emergency-lifted-ottawa" target="_blank"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Mayor
Watson lifted Ottawa’s state of emergency</span></a></span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">, which has been in place since March 2020 and we continue to follow all health and safety guidelines from both Ottawa Public Health and the Province. The
Province is currently in Step Three of its reopening plan and we are expecting more information in the coming weeks on the move to next steps with that plan</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:#1F497D">.</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black"><o:p></o:p></span></p>

back to the community, to a sustainable and strengthened service system while ensuring the health and safety of residents, staff and the community, always</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black"> recognizing that the pandemic remains an ongoing risk.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">Respite Centres</span></b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">As part of its early emergency response, the City's Human Needs</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:#1F497D">
</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Task Force (HNTF), <span style="color:black">
with support from various community partners, set up Respite Centres to<span style="background:white"> provide the additional space needed to allow residents attending day programs to be able to continue to access services while being able to physically distance</span>.
As part of </span>the HNTF recovery <span style="color:black">strategy, the City in collaboration with its partners</span><span style="color:#1F497D">,</span> including Ottawa Public Health (OPH),
<span style="color:black">will look to support the seamless transition of respite/day program services back to the community <span style="background:white">while minimizing disruption and impacts to the clients.</span><o:p></o:p></span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">St. Paul's Respite Centre</span></b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">St Paul's Respite Centre is currently operating out of the St. Paul's Eastern United Church located at 473 Cumberland Street. St. Paul's has been operational since the fall of 2020 and currently
offers access to washrooms, and w<span style="background:white">ith support from Chef Ric and our partners with the Ottawa Mission, </span>serves bagged lunches and beverages (water/coffee). Given the</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:#1F497D">
</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt">ongoing decrease in the daily number of individuals accessing St. Paul's and the number of available services and resources in the surrounding community, the HNCC has initiated plans to begin gradually transitioning
<span style="color:black">services out of the St. Paul's site. <o:p></o:p></span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">As part of the transition plan, there will be upcoming changes to food services available at St. Paul's. <b><i><span style="background:white">Effective August 23, 2021,</span></i></b><span style="background:white">
St. Paul's will no longer serve food and will continue to offer coffee/water and access to washrooms. </span>Over the coming weeks, staff will begin engaging clients utilizing services at St. Paul's, advising them of this change and timelines and providing
them with information on the available supports and resources in the surrounding community. The HNCC will monitor the impact of these changes and the need to continue to operate St. Paul's as a respite site will be under review. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

avec l’appui de divers partenaires communautaires, a mis sur pied des centres de répit afin de
<span style="background:white">fournir l’espace supplémentaire nécessaire pour permettre aux résidents qui participent à des programmes de jour de continuer à avoir accès aux services tout en étant physiquement éloignés</span>. Dans le cadre de la stratégie
de </span>rétablissement du GTBH<span style="color:black">, la Ville, en collaboration avec ses partenaires</span><span style="color:#1F497D">,
</span>y compris Santé publique Ottawa (SPO), <span style="color:black">cherchera à soutenir la transition sans heurt des services de répit et des programmes de jour vers la communauté<span style="background:white">, tout en réduisant au minimum les perturbations

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA" style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">Le Centre de répit de St. Paul’s fonctionne actuellement à partir de l’Église unie St. Paul’s-Eastern située au 473, rue Cumberland. Le Centre de répit de St. Paul’s est opérationnel
depuis l’automne 2020 et offre actuellement l’accès à des toilettes, et <span style="background:white">
avec le soutien du chef Ric et de nos partenaires de la Mission d’Ottawa, </span>
