<div dir="ltr"><div><br></div><div>In partnership with ACORN Ottawa, and funded by Ottawa Community Foundation, the Alliance co-designed and delivered the <b><a href="https://www.endhomelessnessottawa.ca/housing_leadership_school">Housing Leadership School</a></b>, a series of webinars, toolkits, and supportive FAQ content, to empower citizens to better understand housing policy, to advocate for change, and to equip tenants to know their rights and protect their right to housing.<br></div><div><br></div><div><u style=""><b>Subjects covered include: </b></u><br><b><a href="https://www.endhomelessnessottawa.ca/housing_policy2">Housing Policy</a>:</b> An overview of the key housing challenges in Ottawa, particularly as they relate to long-term rental housing. It also explores potential strategies to mitigate Ottawa’s housing crisis, including landlord registration by-laws, an Anti Displacement Policy & Renoviction Bylaw, educational campaigns, and inclusionary zoning policies.</div><div><br></div><div><b><a href="https://www.endhomelessnessottawa.ca/tenants_rights2">Tenant Rights: </a></b>Information for tenants and community allies of the current laws around  three key tenancy issues: Rent Increases, Evictions, and Municipal Property Standards. </div><div><br></div><div><b><a href="https://www.endhomelessnessottawa.ca/housing_advocacy2">Housing Advocacy: </a></b>Tips and pointers for different approaches to advocacy, as well as a list of resources to you help develop the knowledge, skills, and network needed to engage in advocacy activities (including petitioning, phone calls or writing letters to decision makers, community meetings, media coverage, town halls and direct actions).</div><div><br></div><div>In addition, there is a list of <b>Frequently Asked Questions </b>like: <br>- What is the definition of affordable housing? <br>- What is a renoviction? <br>- What can tenants do to advocate for their rights during a
