<p class="MsoNoSpacing"><a href="https://www.infrastructure.gc.ca/homelessness-sans-abri/index-eng.html">Reaching Home: Canada’s Homelessness Strategy</a> is a community-based program aimed at preventing and reducing homelessness across Canada. Reaching Home
has four regional funding streams, including the <a href="https://www.infrastructure.gc.ca/homelessness-sans-abri/funding-financement/designated-comms-designees-eng.html">
Designated Communities funding stream</a>, which provides funding to 64 urban communities outside the territories that face significant issues with homelessness. Organizations within a Designated Community can apply for Reaching Home funding through their Community
Entity to support priorities identified in their community’s homelessness plan.<span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-CA"><o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-CA">In Calgary, Alberta, the Designated Community (DC) Community Entity (CE), the
</span><a href="https://www.calgaryhomeless.com/"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-CA">Calgary Homeless Foundation</span></a><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-CA"> has designated Reaching Home funding to support
</span><a href="https://www.calgaryhomeless.com/the%E2%80%AFtriveri%E2%80%AFhouse-opens-its-doors-in-time-for-the-holidays-welcoming%E2%80%AF38%E2%80%AFhomeless-and-vulnerable%E2%80%AFyouth%E2%80%AFhome%E2%80%AF/"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-CA">Triveri
House</span></a><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-CA">, which provides youth experiencing homelessness and vulnerable youth support on their journey towards health and independence.
</span>Triveri House offers a range of supports, from minimal intervention to more intensive case management for those with complex needs. It provides a spectrum of programming, including: housing identification, rent and move-in assistance, case management,
short-term housing with supports while residents await more permanent options and more intensive longer-term housing. R<span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-CA">esidents often will enter the program when they are between the ages of 17 to 24, however referrals
may be accepted for participants aged 25 or 26 on a case-by-case basis based on their specific needs and program best fit.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-CA"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin-bottom:12.0pt"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-CA">Triveri House works to provide a safe home for all residents and a place where issues related to people’s health and well-being can be addressed. These principles
use a trauma informed lens and recognize the need to meet people where they are at in terms of supporting participants in their recovery from homelessness and in addressing health, finance, home, and connection. Triveri House has also formed relationships
with community health partners to help support vulnerable participants who are at a high risk for adverse health outcomes. These partnerships have also helped ease the transition of information between care providers and sponsor strong client centered care
plans in efforts to improve health outcomes for participants and decrease high volumes of emergency systems use.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-CA">Triveri House also provides support to individuals with little to no access to income. Residents are supported in accessing required documentation (Identification, Bank Accounts, Pay Stubs, Tax
Information) and receiving individualized income supports. Additionally, through the rent and utilities subsidy program at Triveri House, participants are only required to pay 30% of their monthly income towards rent and utilities while the program subsidies
the remaining balance. The subsidy program allows the room to supply participants with funding to access basic needs beyond housing. In addition, staff will work with each participant on creating an “Honest Monthly Budget” which is used as a tool to foster
financial management, independence, awareness, and stability.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

</b>the Homelessness Policy Directorate (HPD) at Infrastructure Canada (INFC) launched the 2022-23 Reaching Home Community Homelessness Report (CHR) reporting cycle. This third report will cover activities and include data spanning the fourth year of the program
(April 1, 2022 through March 31, 2023). An email was sent to all Community Entities (CEs) to announce the launch.
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">As identified in the
</span><a href="https://www.infrastructure.gc.ca/homelessness-sans-abri/directives-eng.html"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Reaching Home Directives</span></a><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">,
communities receiving funding from the Designated Communities (DC) stream (outside of Quebec) are required to submit a CHR each year. This requirement also applies to the three territorial capitals funded through the Territorial Homelessness (TH) stream. Communities
in Quebec and those receiving either Indigenous Homelessness (IH) or Rural and Remote Homelessness (RRH) stream funding
<b>are not required</b> to complete a CHR.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

community level. Communities are encouraged to use their CHR data to develop clear plans of action that help them to reach their homelessness reduction targets and to leverage the collective efforts of service providers working across the community, regardless

(WNHHN) decided to undertake an extensive scoping review of available evidence on women’s homelessness in Canada.
</span><a href="https://www.homelesshub.ca/about-us/about-the-coh"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The Canadian Observatory</span></a><span class="MsoHyperlink"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">
on Homelessness</span></span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> was hired to complete this literature review, guided at each step by the expertise of WNHHN members, including members with lived experience of homelessness.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The report explored evidence on unique causes, consequences, and experiences of homelessness and housing precarity for women, girls, and gender diverse people
in Canada and noted several key findings. The report noted that women, girls and gender diverse people across Canada disproportionately bear the burden of poverty, core housing need, interpersonal violence, and childcare responsibilities. The researchers also
suggest that the siloing of data collection and analysis across systems and sectors creates a barrier against understanding of women’s housing need and homelessness. The report also highlights that women and gender diverse people are vulnerable to structural
and systemic barriers to housing, reinforcing the need for a fully implemented right to housing to uncover and resolve systemic barriers.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

matière de recherche de logement, d’aide à la location et au déménagement, de gestion de cas, de logement à court terme avec soutien en attente d’options permanentes, et de logement à plus long terme offrant davantage de services. Les résidents et résidentes
sont souvent admis au programme alors qu’ils sont âgés de 17 à 24 ans. Toutefois, ce dernier peut accepter des participants et participantes âgés de 25 ou 26 ans au cas par cas, selon leurs besoins précis et le meilleur programme qui leur est offert.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

ainsi qu’une place où leurs problèmes de santé et de mieux‑être peuvent être traités. Ces principes utilisent une approche qui tient compte des traumatismes et reconnaissent le besoin de rencontrer les gens où ils se trouvent afin de les appuyer dans leur
parcours pour sortir de l’itinérance et d’aborder leur santé, leurs finances, leur logement et leurs contacts. La Triveri House a également forgé des relations avec des partenaires de santé communautaires pour aider les participants et participantes vulnérables
ayant un risque élevé d’effets indésirables sur leur santé. Ces partenariats ont aidé à faciliter l’échange de renseignements entre les fournisseurs de soins de santé et à promouvoir des plans de soins robustes et centrés sur le client dans le but d’améliorer
les effets sur la santé des participants et participantes et de diminuer l’utilisation élevée des systèmes d’urgence.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

et résidentes obtiennent une aide en ce qui a trait à l’accès aux documents nécessaires (identification, comptes bancaires, talons de chèque et renseignements sur les impôts) et dans la réception de soutien du revenu personnalisé. De plus, grâce au programme
de subvention du loyer et des services publics de la Triveri House, les participants et participantes n’ont qu’à verser 30 % de leur revenu mensuel pour payer leur loyer et leurs services publics, alors que le reste des frais est assumé par les subventions
du programme. Le programme de subventions permet aux participants et aux participantes d’obtenir un financement pour payer leurs besoins de base autres que le logement. De plus, le personnel travaille avec chaque participant et participante pour créer un « budget

du Rapport communautaire en matière d’itinérance (RCMI) de Vers un chez‑soi. Ce troisième rapport portera sur les activités et fera état des données qui s’étalent sur la quatrième année du programme (du 1<sup>er</sup> avril 2022 au 31 mars 2023). Un courriel

sur l’itinérance (OCI)</span></span><span lang="FR-CA" style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> a été embauché pour réaliser l’analyse documentaire, orientée à chaque étape par l’expertise des membres du WNHHN, y compris des
membres ayant vécu une situation d’itinérance.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA" style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Le rapport explore les preuves liées aux causes, aux conséquences et aux expériences uniques en matière d’itinérance et de précarité du logement
chez les femmes, les filles et les personnes de diverses identités de genre au Canada et souligne plusieurs constatations clés. Le rapport indique que les femmes, les filles et les personnes de diverses identités de genre au Canada portent, de manière disproportionnelle,
le fardeau de la pauvreté, du besoin impérieux en matière de logement, de violence interpersonnelle et des responsabilités liées à la garde d’enfants. Les chercheurs et chercheuses suggèrent également que la compartimentation de la collecte et de l’analyse
des données dans l’ensemble des systèmes et des secteurs crée une barrière en ce qui a trait à la compréhension des besoins en matière de logement et d’itinérance chez les femmes. Le rapport souligne aussi que les femmes et les personnes de diverses identités
de genre sont vulnérables face aux obstacles structurels et systémiques en matière de logement, ce qui renforce le besoin d’un droit au logement complètement mis en œuvre afin de découvrir et de surmonter les obstacles systémiques.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
