<p class="MsoNormal"><a href="https://www.infrastructure.gc.ca/homelessness-sans-abri/index-eng.html"><span style="line-height:105%">Reaching Home: Canada’s Homelessness Strategy</span></a><span style="line-height:105%">’s
</span><a href="https://www.infrastructure.gc.ca/homelessness-sans-abri/funding-financement/indigenous-autochtones-eng.html"><span style="line-height:105%">Indigenous Homelessness</span></a><span style="line-height:105%"> funding stream provides funding to
30 communities (urban centres outside of the territories) for the delivery of culturally-appropriate services for Indigenous Peoples who are experiencing or at-risk of homelessness. Federal funding is delivered to communities, primarily through the Community
Entity (CE) model. The local CE is normally an incorporated organization (e.g. an established not-for-profit organization or a municipal government) and is responsible for the selection, approval and management of projects that support the implementation of
a local community plan. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height:105%">The Community Entity responsible for delivering Indigenous Homelessness funding in Regina, Saskatchewan, the
</span><a href="https://www.namerindhousing.ca/"><span style="line-height:105%">Namerind Housing Corporation</span></a><span style="line-height:105%">, has partnered with the
</span><a href="http://www.newoyotina.ca/"><span style="line-height:105%">Nēwo Yōtina Friendship Centre</span></a>
<span style="line-height:105%">to deliver Reaching Home funding to support those experiencing homelessness in the community. The Nēwo Yōtina Friendship Centre is a non-profit organization that supports urban Indigenous people and families living within the
City of Regina. The organization plays a vital role in the community by providing housing, diversionary and client support services.
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height:105%">Nēwo Yōtina Friendship Centre operates the
</span><a href="http://www.newoyotina.ca/housing"><span style="line-height:105%">Four Winds Housing Program</span></a><span style="line-height:105%">
<span class="MsoHyperlink"><span style="color:black">and </span></span></span><a href="https://www.newoyotina.ca/housing"><span style="line-height:105%">the Sohkâyâwin Intensive Case Management Program</span></a><span style="line-height:105%"> whose Housing
Support Workers work with the cultural support and resolution health support workers to promote housing stability and reduce homelessness. Support workers provide services to clients referred through Regina’s Coordinated Access system to support obtaining
and maintaining safe, secure and affordable housing. These services include (but are not limited to) assisting in housing searches, contacting emergency shelters, case planning and collaborating with other organizations for services. Support workers also assist
clients with low and regular-income housing and income assistance applications, arranging or providing transportation for appointments and house viewings, food security, general advocacy, ongoing case management and support.
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height:105%">Reaching Home funding has enabled the organization to increase its housing staff, and while working with an Indigenous housing provider, the organization has been able to place clients in dedicated transitional
housing spaces. With the ongoing interventions and supports of Nēwo Yōtina staff, families have been able to maintain housing stability; improve physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being; and in some cases, have had their child protection files
closed.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height:105%">The Newo Yotina Friendship Centre provides additional supportive services to the community, like a drop-in centre,

<p class="MsoNormal">Sustainable affordable housing is an investment in strong communities — communities where people have a good place to call home and clean air for generations to come.<br>
<br>
Under the new Canada Greener Affordable Housing (CGAH) program, community housing providers will get the help they need to make affordable housing more energy efficient.
<br>
<br>
The CGAH program will make available $1.2 billion in low-interest repayable and forgivable loans over the next four years to complete deep energy retrofits on multi-unit residential rental buildings.<br>
<br>
This funding will allow affordable housing providers to make improvements to aging buildings that will improve energy efficiency and extend their lifespan. In the long-term, this will reduce the operating costs of affordable housing so they can continue to
serve low-income households for many years to come. <br>
<br>
For affordable housing residents, this program will improve indoor air quality, comfort, and quality of life through retrofits. These may include updates like the installation of heating and cooling systems, and energy-efficient appliances, windows, and doors.<span style="font-size:11.0pt;line-height:105%"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Two types of funding are available to eligible community housing providers:<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Pre-retrofit funding<br>
</b>For activities like energy audits, energy modelling studies and building condition assessment reports needed for a Retrofit Funding application.<b><o:p></o:p></b></p>

</b>For deep energy retrofits that will reduce rental buildings energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.<br>

This funding is part of the Government of Canada’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. Affordable housing providers interested in the CGAH program Retrofit Funding can begin preparing applications as the application portal is open until July

(EAF) is looking for dynamic youth who want to demonstrate leadership and a commitment to their communities. Through this process, youth volunteer their time to build a more accessible Canada. The EAF Youth Innovation Component provides an opportunity for
youth to have their direct impact on the lives of persons with disabilities. <o:p>
</o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height:105%">Youth Accessibility Leaders (YAL) promote the program and encourage organizations to apply for its funding. Through this work, individuals will volunteer their time to: create greater awareness about accessibility
needs, encourage organizations to apply for EAF funding to address existing accessibility barriers, and build a more inclusive and accessible Canada.

programme </span><a href="https://www.infrastructure.gc.ca/homelessness-sans-abri/index-fra.html"><span lang="FR-CA" style="line-height:105%">Vers un chez-soi : la stratégie canadienne de lutte contre l’itinérance</span></a><span lang="FR-CA" style="line-height:105%">
permet de verser une aide financière à 30 communautés (aux centres urbains à l’extérieur des territoires) pour la prestation de services adaptés sur le plan culturel aux Autochtones qui sont en situation d’itinérance ou à risque de le devenir. Les fonds fédéraux
sont principalement versés aux communautés dans le cadre du modèle d’entité communautaire. Normalement, l’entité communautaire locale est un organisme constitué en société (par exemple, un organisme sans but lucratif établi ou une administration municipale)
et a la responsabilité de choisir, d’approuver et de gérer des projets qui soutiennent la mise en œuvre d’un plan communautaire local.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA" style="line-height:105%">La </span><a href="https://www.namerindhousing.ca/"><span lang="FR-CA" style="line-height:105%">Namerind Housing Corporation</span></a><span lang="FR-CA" style="line-height:105%"> (en anglais
seulement), entité communautaire responsable du volet de financement Itinérance chez les Autochtones à Regina, en Saskatchewan, a établi un partenariat avec le
</span><a href="https://www.newoyotina.ca/"><span lang="FR-CA" style="line-height:105%">Nēwo Yōtina Friendship Centre</span></a><span lang="FR-CA" style="line-height:105%"> (en anglais seulement) pour fournir le financement de Vers un chez-soi afin de soutenir
les personnes en situation d’itinérance dans la communauté. Le Nēwo Yōtina Friendship Centre est un organisme sans but lucratif qui vient en aide aux personnes et aux familles autochtones en milieu urbain qui vivent dans la ville de Regina. Cet organisme joue
un rôle de premier plan dans la communauté en fournissant des services de logement, de détournement et de soutien aux clients.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA" style="line-height:105%">Le Nēwo Yōtina Friendship Centre gère le
</span><a href="http://www.newoyotina.ca/housing"><span lang="FR-CA" style="line-height:105%">Four Winds Housing Program</span></a><span lang="FR-CA" style="line-height:105%"> (en anglais seulement) et le
</span><a href="https://www.newoyotina.ca/housing"><span lang="FR-CA" style="line-height:105%">Sohkâyâwin Intensive Case Management Program</span></a><span lang="FR-CA" style="line-height:105%"> (en anglais seulement) dont les agents d’aide au logement collaborent
avec les agents de soutien culturel et de la santé communautaire (résolution) afin de favoriser la stabilité du logement et la réduction de l’itinérance. Des agents de soutien fournissent des services aux clients orientés par le système d’accès coordonné de
Regina pour les aider à obtenir un logement sécuritaire, sûr et abordable et à le maintenir. Ces services comprennent, entre autres, l’aide à la recherche de logement, la prise de contact avec des refuges d’urgence, la planification d’interventions et la collaboration
avec d’autres organismes pour obtenir des services. Des agents de soutien aident aussi les clients avec les demandes de logement pour les personnes à revenu faible et moyen et les demandes d’aide au revenu, la prise de dispositions de transport pour les rendez-vous
et les visites de maisons ou l’offre de ce transport, la sécurité alimentaire, la défense des intérêts en général, la gestion de cas et le soutien.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA" style="line-height:105%">Le financement du programme Vers un chez-soi a permis à l’organisme d’augmenter son personnel responsable des services de logement, et, tout en travaillant avec un fournisseur de logement autochtone,
l’organisme a été en mesure de placer les clients dans des logements de transition dédiés. Grâce aux interventions et aux dispositifs de soutien continus du personnel du Nēwo Yōtina Friendship Centre, les familles ont pu stabiliser leur situation de logement,
améliorer leur bien-être physique, mental, émotionnel et spirituel et, dans certains cas, clore leur dossier de protection de l’enfance.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA">Le logement abordable et durable est un investissement dans la création de communautés fortes, où les gens auront un chez-soi et respireront de l’air pur pour des générations à venir.</span><span lang="FR-CA" style="font-size:11.0pt;line-height:105%"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA">Grâce au nouveau Programme canadien pour des logements abordables plus verts (PCLAV), les fournisseurs de logements communautaires obtiendront l’aide dont ils ont besoin pour rendre les habitations abordables plus écoénergétiques.
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA">Le PCLAV offrira 1,2 milliard de dollars en prêts remboursables à faible taux d’intérêt et en prêts-subventions au cours des quatre prochaines années. Ce financement servira à effectuer des rénovations écoénergétiques
majeures dans les immeubles locatifs à logements multiples.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA">Le financement offert permettra aux fournisseurs de logements abordables de rénover des immeubles vieillissants pour en améliorer l’efficacité énergétique et en prolonger la durée de vie. À long terme, ces rénovations
réduiront les charges opérationnelles des logements abordables. Ainsi, ces logements pourront continuer à accueillir des ménages à faible revenu pendant de nombreuses années.
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA">Ce programme améliorera la qualité de l’air intérieur, ainsi que le confort et la qualité de vie des résidents de logements abordables grâce à des rénovations écoénergétiques. Il peut s’agir de modernisations comme l’installation
de systèmes de chauffage et de climatisation, ainsi que de fenêtres, de portes et d’électroménagers écoénergétiques.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA">Les fournisseurs de logements communautaires admissibles ont accès à deux types de financement :<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span lang="FR-CA">Financement des activités préalables aux rénovations</span></b><span lang="FR-CA"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA">Ce financement est destiné aux activités telles que les évaluations énergétiques, les analyses de modélisation de l’efficacité énergétique et les rapports d’évaluation de l’état des bâtiments qui sont nécessaires pour
une demande de financement de rénovations.<b><o:p></o:p></b></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span lang="FR-CA">Financement des rénovations</span></b><span lang="FR-CA"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA">Ce financement sert aux rénovations écoénergétiques majeures qui réduiront la consommation d’énergie et les émissions de gaz à effet de serre d’un immeuble locatif.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA">Ce financement fait partie de l’engagement du gouvernement du Canada visant à atteindre la carboneutralité d’ici 2050. Le portail de demande pour le Financement des rénovations est ouvert jusqu’au 31 juillet. Les fournisseurs
de logements abordables intéressés peuvent donc commencer à préparer leurs demandes.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<span lang="FR-CA">(FA) recherche des jeunes dynamiques qui veulent démontrer leur leadership et leur engagement envers leur communauté. Durant ce processus, les jeunes bénévoles consacrent leur temps à bâtir un Canada plus accessible. La composante Innovation
jeunesses du FA offre l’occasion d’avoir un impact direct sur la vie des personnes en situation de handicap.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA" style="line-height:105%">Les jeunes leaders en matière d’accessibilité font la promotion du programme et encouragent les organismes à faire une demande de financement. Grâce à cette initiative, des personnes donneront
de leur temps pour : accroître la sensibilisation aux besoins en matière d’accessibilité, encourager des organismes à présenter une demande de financement au FA pour éliminer les obstacles liés à l’accessibilité, et bâtir un Canada plus inclusif et accessible.

<b>8 au 10 novembre 2023</b>. Cette année, la Conférence se déroulera selon une formule hybride, de sorte que les participants pourront y assister soit en ligne, soit en personne. Afin d’assurer la qualité de l’enregistrement et l’accessibilité du contenu pour
les personnes qui vivent dans différents fuseaux horaires partout au pays, la composante en ligne sera sur demande, avec des enregistrements de toutes les séances téléversées sur la plateforme en ligne de l’ACMFI le jour même de la présentation. Le programme
est conçu de manière à soutenir et à accélérer la fin de l’itinérance au Canada et vise à donner aux participants — dirigeants communautaires, organismes, personnel de première ligne, chercheurs et décideurs politiques — l’inspiration, les informations, les
outils et la formation nécessaires à l’atteinte de cet objectif.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
