<p class="MsoNormal"><a href="https://www.infrastructure.gc.ca/homelessness-sans-abri/index-eng.html"><span style="line-height:105%;mso-fareast-language:EN-CA">Reaching Home: Canada’s Homelessness Strategy</span></a><span style="line-height:105%;mso-fareast-language:EN-CA">
supports communities in establishing Coordinated Access, an integrated systems-based approach<b>
</b>that prioritizes people most in need of assistance, and matches individuals to appropriate housing and services in a more streamlined and coordinated way.</span><span style="line-height:105%"> The
</span><a href="https://www.infrastructure.gc.ca/homelessness-sans-abri/funding-financement/comm-cap-innovation-eng.html"><span style="line-height:105%">Community Capacity and Innovation funding stream</span></a><span style="line-height:105%"> provides funding
to support the implementation of coordinated services across a community, encouraging the development of innovative approaches to address and prevent homelessness, and for training and technical assistance delivered by external service providers.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height:105%">The </span><a href="https://www.lethbridge.ca/"><span style="line-height:105%">City of Lethbridge</span></a><span style="line-height:105%"> in partnership with the
</span><a href="https://lethbridge.cmha.ca/"><span style="line-height:105%">Canadian Mental Health Association – Alberta South Region</span></a><span style="line-height:105%">, held the first ever Integrated Coordinated Access (ICA) Service Fair in October.
The event’s purpose was to enhance access to essential services within the community by bringing service providers together in one place, giving service sector organizations the opportunity to share resources, network and learn from one another, with the goal
to support the community’s most vulnerable populations. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height:105%">The agenda featured presentations from ICA Partners, networking opportunities, and resource tables creating an environment conducive to collaboration. All participating agencies were encouraged to network
and learn about each other, with the intention to further coordinate their frontline practices and referrals. Organizations were also encouraged to submit their program Referral Pathways for posting to the ICA website to ensure a live and comprehensive list
of ICA partners and programs is available.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height:105%">After a welcome and land acknowledgement by the City of Lethbridge, elder Roger Hunt began the event with a prayer. Presentations included informative updates about the ICA system, the Lethbridge Wellness
Shelter and Stabilization Units, Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organizations, youth support navigators represented by Woods Homes, Lethbridge Housing Authority on programs and services, and a presentation by Dr. Robbin Gibb on
</span><a href="https://www.buildingbrains.ca/"><span style="line-height:105%">Building Brains Together</span></a><span style="line-height:105%">, as well as insights from the City of Lethbridge on its Encampment Strategy.
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height:105%">Kristina Eyjolfson and David Gabert, the event organizers, consider the fair a great success, judging from the positive participant feedback, which included one service provider saying they cancelled afternoon
plans at the last minute to spend the entire day there as well as several requests from organizations to present at a future fair. They are hopeful that they can repeat the event again, with the intention of building and enhancing the coordinated access system
in Lethbridge, by allowing for more presentations and changes that facilitate service providers to make more connections.

aide les communautés à mettre en œuvre l’accès coordonné, une approche intégrée fondée sur des systèmes, qui accorde la priorité aux personnes dont le besoin d’aide est le plus important et qui les oriente vers les logements et les services appropriés de manière
simplifiée et coordonnée. Le </span><a href="https://www.infrastructure.gc.ca/homelessness-sans-abri/funding-financement/comm-cap-innovation-fra.html"><span lang="FR-CA" style="line-height:105%">volet de financement Capacité communautaire et innovation</span></a><span lang="FR-CA" style="line-height:105%;color:black">
offre du financement pour soutenir la mise en œuvre de services coordonnés dans une communauté, en encourageant l’élaboration d’approches novatrices pour lutter contre l’itinérance et la prévenir, et pour appuyer la formation et l’assistance technique qui

</span><a href="https://lethbridge.cmha.ca/"><span lang="FR-CA" style="line-height:105%">l’Association canadienne pour la santé mentale – Région du sud de l’Alberta</span></a><span lang="FR-CA" style="line-height:105%;color:black"> (site en anglais seulement),
a tenu la toute première foire des services de l’accès coordonné intégré (ACI) en octobre. L’événement visait à améliorer l’accès aux services essentiels au sein de la communauté en réunissant
<a name="_Hlk154044611">les fournisseurs de service</a> au même endroit, de façon à offrir aux organismes du secteur des services une occasion d’échanger des ressources, de réseauter et d’apprendre les uns des autres, dans le but de soutenir les populations
les plus vulnérables de la communauté. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA" style="line-height:105%;color:black">Des présentations offertes par des partenaires de l’ACI, des occasions de réseautage et des tables sur les ressources, qui créaient un environnement propice à la collaboration, étaient
au programme. Tous les organismes participants étaient encouragés à réseauter et à découvrir les autres organismes, afin d’être en mesure de mieux coordonner leurs pratiques de première ligne et leurs processus d’aiguillage. Les organismes étaient également
invités à présenter leurs voies d’aiguillage en vue de leur publication sur le site Web relatif de l’ACI, pour rendre accessible une liste exhaustive et à jour des partenaires de l’ACI et des programmes connexes.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA" style="line-height:105%;color:black">Après le mot de bienvenue et la déclaration de reconnaissance territoriale prononcés par un représentant de la Ville de Lethbridge, la journée a commencé par une prière récitée par
l’Aîné Roger Hunt. Les présentations comportaient les derniers renseignements sur le système d’ACI, le refuge et l’unité de stabilisation de Lethbridge, les organismes de personnes âgées de Lethbridge et les intervenants pivots qui soutiennent les jeunes (représentés
par Woods Homes). Mme Robbin Gibb a présenté l’organisme </span><a href="https://www.buildingbrains.ca/"><span lang="FR-CA" style="line-height:105%">Building Brains Together</span></a><span lang="FR-CA" style="line-height:105%;color:black"> (site en anglais

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR-CA" style="line-height:105%;color:black">Les organisateurs de l’événement, Kristina Eyjolfson et David Gabert, considèrent que la foire a été un franc succès, s’ils se fient aux commentaires positifs des participants (dont
un fournisseur de services qui a annulé à la dernière minute ses projets de l’après-midi pour rester à la foire jusqu’à la fin de la journée) et au fait que plusieurs organismes ont manifesté leur souhait de participer à une prochaine foire. Ils espèrent pouvoir
répéter l’événement, dans le but de mettre en œuvre le système d’accès coordonné à Lethbridge et de l’améliorer. Le prochain événement offrirait un plus grand nombre de présentations et des changements seraient apportés pour permettre aux fournisseurs de services
