The launch of <strong>Canada Disability Benefit</strong> this July and the recent opening of the
<strong>Canada Dental Plan</strong> beyond its past age qualifications will help nudge improvements in quality of life and the social determinants of health for many of the people we serve.  It’s not an automatic process sadly and requires taking the time to
 fire up of applications and some sequencing.  Some of the process’ are more user friendly than others.</p><p style="margin:0px 0px 24px;line-height:1.7;padding:0px">

While this policy initiative by the federal government and the politics behind it is significant, you can see how this individualized, medicalized approach misses the societal, collective view for outcomes of wellbeing.  It’s a step for collective wellbeing
 but perpetuates the silos of basic access and the inefficiency of resource deployment of care systems.  Lets keep aiming and working towards Basic Income, led by the decades and decades of work, now being advanced by the Basic Income Canada Network.
