service to people experiencing homelessness or for those in an emergency situation that are 18 years and older, where overnight shelter accommodation is required. The shelter provides 24-hour support where connections to mental health, addiction, employment, and
housing support can be accepted. Strong emphasis is made to connect individuals with community support. RLAES is a low barrier shelter. It applies a harm reduction approach to services, and provides safe shelter, warm meals, and hygiene and clothing supports.</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;mso-fareast-language:EN-CA"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:105%"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;mso-fareast-language:EN-CA">This 14-bed program has capacity to support three overflow beds in extreme
weather conditions. The shelter also has two transitional housing units with longer-term support and structure for people transitioning from homelessness to more permanent housing solutions. </span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;mso-fareast-language:EN-CA"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:105%"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;mso-fareast-language:EN-CA">Red Lake is one of the nine municipalities within the Kenora District supported
through Reaching Home. RLAES was the pilot site for the Homeless Individuals and Families Information System (HIFIS) implementation, and has continued to lead on Coordinated Access efforts across the District. RLAES is a multi-funded organization, with Reaching
Home contributing a total of $303,246 since 2020.</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;mso-fareast-language:EN-CA"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>

seniors who are experiencing food insecurity. The meal program is made possible by the on-going generosity of the community grocery stores and generous monetary donations made by mining resource companies. The meals are prepared in a commercially inspected
kitchen onsite at the RLAES. Any person who requests a meal is provided with one. The program supports breakfast, lunch and dinner 365 days a year. Snacks are also provided for families to be added to school lunches and food bags can be requested and provided
upon availability.</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;mso-fareast-language:EN-CA"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>

hunger, promoting social interaction, and fostering a sense of belonging. that includes arts and crafts, gardening, life skill educating and cultural activities that support holistic healing and wellbeing. <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:105%"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;mso-fareast-language:EN-CA">The By-Name List supports individuals with exploring housing solutions to
improve their housing outcomes. Individuals who are precariously housed, facing homelessness or are currently experiencing homelessness may join the By-Name List at the Red Lake Area Emergency Shelter. This supports coordinated access for individuals to different
housing solutions across the Kenora District. Monthly updates to the By-Name List are conducted by RLAES staff members to include any updates for housing applications, employment, treatment, therapy and other areas where support can be implemented. RLAES has
considerable success for individuals who have joined the By-Name list for Coordinated Access. </span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;mso-fareast-language:EN-CA"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>

After one year of facing homelessness, the individual received a housing offer. The continued support and efforts of the RLAES team aided this transition. Through connecting the individual with other organizations in the community, the individual was able

taking care of it. As much as RLAES provided support with this transition, the individual took major steps towards success all on their own and obtained a part time job. The individual continues to stop by RLAES from time to time to check in with staff. The

and grocery store contributions. It is these generous donations that have kept RLAES from having to pause the program. Food security is a concern across the province and certainly causes a great deal of stress for many individuals and families in our region.</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;mso-fareast-language:EN-CA"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:105%"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;mso-fareast-language:EN-CA">It is through this generosity that the shelter is able to provide food bags,
hygiene products, and clothing supports. Food bags are a combination of excess donated food, canned soup, macaroni, rice, cereal, and other non-perishable items. The food available varies depending on what is received through donation to the shelter. If anyone
needs a food bag, they are more than welcome to call ahead or come to the vestibule door and ask. </span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;mso-fareast-language:EN-CA"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>

pour la nuit aux personnes en situation d’itinérance ou en situation d'urgence âgées de 18 ans et plus, qui ont besoin d'un hébergement pour la nuit. Le refuge offre un soutien 24 heures sur 24 et permet d'obtenir de l'aide en matière de santé mentale, de
toxicomanie, d'emploi et de logement. L'accent est mis sur la mise en relation des personnes avec les services d'aide communautaires. Le RLAES est un refuge à faible barrière. Il applique une approche de réduction des risques dans ses services, et offre un
hébergement sûr, des repas chauds, ainsi qu'une aide en matière d'hygiène et d'habillement. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:105%"><span lang="FR-CA" style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;mso-fareast-language:EN-CA">Ce programme de 14 lits peut accueillir 3 lits supplémentaires en cas de
conditions météorologiques extrêmes. Le refuge dispose également de deux logements de transition offrant un soutien et une structure à plus long terme pour les personnes qui passent de l'itinérance à des solutions de logement plus permanentes. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

par le programme Vers un chez-soi. Le RLAES a été le site pilote pour la mise en œuvre du Système d'information sur les personnes et les familles sans abri (SISA) et a continué à diriger les efforts en matière d’accès coordonné dans tout le district. Le RLAES
est une organisation financée par plusieurs sources, Vers un chez-soi ayant contribué 303 246 dollars depuis 2020. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

les familles et les personnes âgées qui souffrent d'insécurité alimentaire. Ce programme est rendu possible grâce à la générosité constante des épiceries locales et aux généreux dons financiers des sociétés minières. Les repas sont préparés dans une cuisine
inspectée par les autorités commerciales sur place, au RLAES. Toute personne qui demande un repas en reçoit un. Le programme offre le déjeuner, le dîner et le souper 365 jours par an. Des collations sont également fournies aux familles pour compléter les repas
scolaires, et des sacs de nourriture peuvent être demandés et fournis en fonction des disponibilités. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

notamment la réduction de la faim, la promotion des interactions sociales et le renforcement du sentiment d'appartenance. Ce programme fournit des repas nutritifs aux personnes et aux familles afin de leur garantir l'accès à un produit de première nécessité. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

RLAES, qui comprend des activités artistiques et artisanales, du jardinage, des cours sur les compétences de vie et des activités culturelles qui favorisent la guérison holistique et le bien-être. Le RLAES offre un service de transport aux personnes qui ont
des rendez-vous ou qui souhaitent participer à des événements dans la communauté. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

afin d'améliorer leur situation en matière de logement. Les personnes qui vivent dans des conditions précaires, qui sont en situation d'itinérance ou à risque de le devenir peuvent s'inscrire sur la liste nominative du refuge d'urgence de la région de Red
Lake. Cela permet de coordonner l'accès des personnes à différentes solutions de logement dans le district de Kenora. Les membres du personnel du RLAES mettent à jour chaque mois la liste nominative afin d'y inclure toute nouvelle information concernant les
demandes de logement, l'emploi, les traitements thérapeutiques et d'autres domaines dans lesquels un soutien peut être apporté. Le RLAES a obtenu des résultats très positifs auprès des personnes inscrites sur la liste nominative pour un accès coordonné. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

Red Lake. Après un an en situation d’itinérance, elle a reçu une offre de logement. Le soutien et les efforts continus de l'équipe du RLAES ont facilité cette transition. Grâce à la mise en relation de cette personne avec d'autres organisations de la communauté,
elle a pu obtenir des meubles, des sacs de nourriture et une aide au transport pour emménager dans son appartement. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:105%"><span lang="FR-CA" style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;mso-fareast-language:EN-CA">La personne est extrêmement fière de son appartement et prend grand soin
de celui-ci. Même si le RLAES l'a aidé dans cette transition, l'individu a fait de grands pas vers la réussite par lui-même et a trouvé un emploi à temps partiel. Il continue de passer de temps en temps au RLAES pour prendre des nouvelles du personnel. L'équipe
du RLAES ne pourrait être plus fière du chemin qu'il a parcouru vers une vie indépendante. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

communautaires et des contributions des épiceries. Ce sont ces généreux dons qui ont permis au RLAES de ne pas avoir à suspendre le programme. La sécurité alimentaire est une préoccupation dans toute la province et cause certainement beaucoup de stress à de
nombreuses personnes et familles de notre région. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:105%"><span lang="FR-CA" style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;mso-fareast-language:EN-CA">C'est grâce à cette générosité que le refuge est en mesure de fournir des
sacs de nourriture, des produits d'hygiène et des vêtements. Les sacs de nourriture contiennent des denrées alimentaires excédentaires données, des soupes en conserve, des macaronis, du riz, des céréales et d'autres produits non périssables. La nourriture
disponible varie en fonction des dons reçus par le refuge. Si quelqu'un a besoin d'un sac de nourriture, il est invité à appeler à l'avance ou à se présenter à la porte du vestibule pour en faire la demande. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
