<h2>What is the Housing and Homelessness Leadership Table?</h2>
<p>The HHLT brings together people who have experienced homelessness,
Indigenous partners, City staff, and the leaders of housing and
shelter organizations to work together to plan and build a better
housing system for Ottawa. Its goal is to make sure there are enough
safe, affordable, and quality homes so that everyone in our city has a

<p>There are two seats at the HHLT for people with lived experience of
homelessness. </p>
<h3>Here is a message from your representatives: </h3>
<p><span style="font-family:'comic sans ms',sans-serif"><span style="font-weight:400">Hi everyone, we are Leah and Mark, your
Lived Experience representatives at the HHLT.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:'comic sans ms',sans-serif"><strong>Leah:</strong><span style="font-weight:400"> I
first left home at 13 and spent years on the streets. The years that
followed were traumatic and included opiate dependence, survival sex
work, and abusive relationships. I’ve dedicated my life to bringing
these overlooked realities to light through my work with Overdose
Prevention Ottawa and POWER.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:'comic sans ms',sans-serif"><strong>Mark:</strong><span style="font-weight:400"> I
experienced homelessness later in life. Having seen firsthand how the
system fails us, I am driven to change it, with a particular focus on
ending veteran homelessness.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:'comic sans ms',sans-serif"><span style="font-weight:400">Together, we ensure your voices are
represented at the HHLT. </span></span></p>

<h2>Qu’est-ce que la Table de direction sur le logement et
l’itinérance?</h2>
<p>Table de direction sur le logement et l’itinérance(TDLI) réunit des
personnes ayant vécu l’itinérance, des partenaires autochtones, du
personnel municipal ainsi que des dirigeants d’organismes de logement
et de refuges afin de planifier et de bâtir un meilleur système de
logement à Ottawa. Son objectif est de veiller à ce qu’il y ait
suffisamment de logements sûrs, abordables et de qualité afin que
chaque personne dans notre ville ait un endroit où vivre.<br>Vous

expérience vécue de l’itinérance.</p>
<h3>Message de vos représentants: </h3>
<p><span style="font-family:'comic sans ms',sans-serif">Bonjour à
toutes et à tous, </span><span style="font-family:'comic sans ms',sans-serif">Nous sommes Leah et Mark, vos représentants ayant une
expérience vécue à la TDLI.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:'comic sans ms',sans-serif"><strong>Leah :</strong> J’ai quitté mon foyer pour la
première fois à l’âge de 13 ans et j’ai passé plusieurs années dans la
rue. Les années qui ont suivi ont été marquées par des traumatismes,
notamment une dépendance aux opioïdes, le travail du sexe de survie et
des relations abusives. J’ai consacré ma vie à faire connaître ces
réalités souvent ignorées dans le cadre de mon travail avec Overdose
Prevention Ottawa et POWER.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:'comic sans ms',sans-serif"><strong>Mark :</strong> J’ai vécu une situation
d’itinérance plus tard dans ma vie. Ayant constaté directement les
lacunes du système, je suis déterminé à le changer, en mettant
particulièrement l’accent sur la fin de l’itinérance chez les anciens
combattants.</span></p>
