Due to overwhelming demand, <span style="color: rgb(10, 102, 194); font-weight: 600;">
<a href="https://museumofvancouver.ca/" id="OWA28e518c9-1ab3-5bc3-e0cc-6792d47d79e9" class="OWAAutoLink" title="https://museumofvancouver.ca/">Museum of Vancouver</a></span> has added two more dates on October 17 for the Austerity Tours.</div>

In 1994, there were a total of 24 applications from British Columbia to the Museums Assistance Program, and 23 of those applications were funded - a 96% success rate. Of those 23 successful applications, most organizations received between $30,000-50,000 (not
adjusted for inflation).<br>
<br>
In 2019, there were 11 successful applications in British Columbia to the Museums Assistance Program and aside from two museums that each received $140,000, most organizations received between $15,000-40,000. In roughly 30 years, the number of museums supported
by this grant has dropped by half, and the amount of funding given to each organization has been cut by one-third due to inflation.<br>

The Austerity Tours have struck a chord with people working in the arts, culture, and heritage sector because stagnant public funding and ever-increasing inflationary pressures are making sustaining our work and community impact feel impossible.<br>
