INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY



Position: Pesticide Awareness Activist

Organization: Pesticide Awareness Committee, NL

Location: St. John's, Newfoundland

Dates of internship: Nov 1, 2010 - March 18, 2011



Help to prepare a pesticide awareness campaign for Newfoundland and Labrador.

Prepare website updates and media releases and research Canadian pesticide awareness options.

Help prepare local meetings, communicate with pesticide awareness committee members and organize the mission, vision and objectives for the pesticide awareness committee. Work on outreach awareness activities including the preparation of brochures for different groups regarding pesticide awareness.

Advertise the pesticide awareness committee and recruit members

Plan and work on future Pesticide Awareness campaigns in partnership with the committee members.



Degree in Chemistry, Education, Environmental Science or any combination of skills and post secondary degree which demonstrate that the intern can accomplish the required activities. Driver's license required.



Must be eligible for Post Secondary Graduate Youth Eco internship Program. See website http://www.psyeip.ca or call 1-877-668-7602 to find out if you meet the eligibility criteria. Position is pending approval of funding.
