PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT (FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE)


Friends of McNabs Island Society McNabs Island Beach Cleanup


Sunday, June 5, 2011 10:00 am – 4:30 pm (rain date June 12)





(May 16, 2011) Help cleanup *McNabs and Lawlor Islands Provincial
Park* on *World
Environment Day!* Since 1991, volunteers have collected *9,500 bags of
garbage and recyclables* from the beaches of this provincial park.



Wear comfortable sneakers; bring work gloves, drinking water, a lunch and *
ENTHUSIASM*. We will supply the garbage bags and *FREE* transportation from
Halifax and Eastern Passage for volunteers willing to clean up the beaches.



Meet at *Murphy’s Cable Wharf,* 1751 Lower Water St on the Halifax
Waterfront before 10 am. *Space on the boat is limited to 190 people*.
Transportation from Eastern Passage via *A & M Sea Charters*, 87 Government
Wharf, Eastern Passage also departs at 10 am and is limited to 29 people.
