*Employment Opportunity: Project Manager*
*Community Conservation Research Network

*The Community Conservation Research Network (CCRN) is a new six-year
research and capacity-building initiative, now seeking an experienced,
enthusiastic and dynamic individual to serve as Network Manager. The CCRN’s
Network Manager will be the sole staffperson of the CCRN, which brings both
great opportunity and significant responsibility. Accordingly, the
successful candidate will be a specialist in providing administrative
support, and will have strong work experience, preferably in a similar
environment to that of the CCRN, which is a university-based, cross-Canada
and international (nine-country) research network involving a wide variety
of partners and participants.

The CCRN’s focus lies in exploring how local communities can most
effectively work to find win-win solutions in balancing environment and
economy, and how governments can best support these efforts. Specifically,
the CCRN will improve the understanding of how communities engage in
environmental conservation and stewardship, and determine best practices
for this engagement and for related policy interventions. To accomplish
this, the CCRN (with funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities
Research Council of Canada) brings together a world-class set of expert
researchers from around the world with a remarkable set of partners: First
Nations, community-based and environmental NGOs, government agencies, other
research networks, and Saint Mary’s University, the CCRN’s host institution.

The Network Manager will work full-time in our office at Saint Mary's
University, carrying out a diverse set of administrative duties as
indicated below. The position is available immediately, and will be
renewable subject to successful annual review and continuation of grant
funding, over the time frame of the project, 2012-2017.

Interested individuals are invited to submit a cover letter and a resume,
and/or send enquiries, by e-mail to Dr. Tony Charles at Saint Mary’s
University (tony.charles at smu.ca). Please put “CCRN” in the subject heading
of any message. Review of applications will take place as they are
received, up to the deadline of August 15, 2012. Enquiries are welcome
following that date, in case the position remains open.
