The Sierra Club of Canada - Atlantic Canada Chapter is hosting a one-
day Pesticide Reduction Forum focusing on municipal initiatives in
Atlantic Canada. With over 85 pesticide bylaws now across Canada
and several Atlantic region municipalities considering similar measures,
there are many recent approaches and developments to discuss. The
keynote speaker will be Theresa McClenaghan from the Canadian
Environmental Law Association. She has been involved in the Supreme
Court of Canada challenge regarding Hudson Quebec's bylaw, and the
recent court challenge to Toronto's bylaw. Other speakers will include
Mayors, provincial MLAs, municipal staff and councillors, and
community leaders. You are invited to attend and we encourage you to
make sure at least one local councillor, parks staff, provincial MLA, or
other community leader attends from your community. This is the
perfect opportunity for them to obtain a complete overview of the
issues, latest developments, and resources available.
