<P align=left><FONT face=Arial size=2>The Coastal CURA is a new five-year
research project on coastal and marine management, funded by the Social Sciences
and Humanities Research Council of Canada, as part of its Community-University
Research Alliance (CURA) program. Through cooperative research approaches, the
Coastal CURA seeks to build the knowledge base and capacity of participating
Maritimes communities and coastal organizations to support community involvement
in the governance and management of coastal and marine resources. </FONT></P>
<P align=left><FONT face=Arial size=2>The Coastal CURA involves a range of
partners, including First Nations, community fishing associations, marine
resource centres and university researchers. The partners include Acadia First
Nation, Bear River First Nation, the Fundy North Fishermen’s Association, the
Fundy Fixed Gear Council, Lennox Island First Nation, Abegweit First Nation, Bay
of Fundy Marine Resource Centre, Saint Mary’s University and the University of
New Brunswick. Coastal CURA participants will be working together toward the
goals of improved effectiveness in the governance of coastal resources, and
enhanced community capacity to participate in coastal management, through
innovative research and Maritimes-wide networking. </FONT></P>
<P align=left><FONT face=Arial size=2>The Coastal CURA seeks a self-motivated,
energetic individual to serve as full-time Project Coordinator. The Project
Coordinator will be responsible for day-to-day administration, communications
and networking for the project, with a diverse set of duties (see below).
Candidates should possess relevant work experience in project administration,
research support, and/or at the community level. Suitable knowledge of and/or
experience in community resource management, familiarity with a university
environment, and knowledge of the Maritimes and its coastal areas, will all be
assets. This is an annual term position, with the potential for renewal within
the time frame of the project. Salary will be commensurate with experience in
accordance with the Project budget. </FONT></P>

for the day-to-day administration of Coastal CURA program activities, and for
supporting and coordinating those activities. Responsibilities will include:
