The Trans Canada Trail / Sentier Transcanadien (TCT/STC) when complete, will be the world’s longest and grandest recreational trail. It is currently used by millions of Canadians and international visitors to experience our country’s legendary wilderness, cycle historic rail trails, explore provincial and territorial capitals, canoe the routes of early explorers, visit national and provincial parks and historic sites, commute to and from work, and enjoy the benefits of safe, healthy active living. By Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation in 2017, the Trail will be fully connected, stretching over 24,000 kilometres from coast to coast to coast, linking millions of Canadians and celebrating our natural and cultural heritage. Today 75% of the Trail is developed.<br />

TRAIL PROJECT COORDINATOR, ATLANTIC CANADA<br />

One-year contract (with the possibility of renewal)<br />
<br />
The Trans Canada Trail is seeking an experienced Trail Project Coordinator for twelve (12) months to assist in the completion of the Trans Canada Trail in Canada’s Atlantic Provinces.<br />
<br />
Reporting directly to the Trail Development Manager, Eastern Canada, you will assist in the coordination and development of the TCT in Atlantic Canada in order to achieve Trail connection by December 2016. Candidates must be located in the Halifax area or be willing to relocate at their own expense. The successful candidate will work from a home office, and report directly to the Trail Development Manager, Eastern Canada.<br />

As an outgoing and energetic self-starter, you have experience building community capacity and initiating relationships with a variety of groups and individuals. You have critical analytical, project planning, and management skills and can demonstrate hands-on experience in those areas. You are a strong negotiator, confident team player and a highly effective organizer<br />
<br />
SUMMARY OF PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES<br />
• Provide support to advance Trail connection;<br />
• Work with TCT’s Roadway Implementation Manager to implement the Roadway Strategy and gain support from community and various levels of government;<br />
• Monitor the progress of trail projects and inform the Trail Development Manager of issues;<br />
• Provide assistance to the Trail Development Manager and Provincial Trail Partners in reviewing, validating and submitting Funding Applications to TCT;<br />
• On behalf of TCT and Provincial Partners, periodically inspect trail projects, provide assistance in the completion of TCT funding requests and identify potential sources of funding;<br />
• Attend Trail events and stakeholder meeting, and conduct Trail visits as required;<br />
• Work with the TCT’s Signage Officer and governments to implement the TCT signage program;<br />

Le sentier Transcanadien/The Trans Canada Trail, une fois complété, sera le sentier récréatif le plus long et le plus grandiose au monde. Il est emprunté par des millions de Canadiens et de visiteurs internationaux qui souhaitent découvrir la nature incomparable du Canada, parcourir à vélo d’anciens corridors ferroviaires, explorer les capitales provinciales et territoriales, pagayer sur les parcours des premiers explorateurs, visiter les parcs nationaux et provinciaux ainsi que les sites historiques, se rendre de la maison au travail et profiter des bienfaits d’un mode de vie sain et actif en milieu sécuritaire. D’ici le 150e anniversaire de la Confédération canadienne en 2017, le Sentier sera entièrement raccordé, s’étendant sur plus de 24 000 kilomètres d'est en ouest et du nord au sud, reliant des millions de Canadiens et célébrant notre patrimoine nature
l et culturel. Jusqu’à présent, 75 % du parcours est aménagé.<br />

COORDONNNATEUR DE PROJET DU SENTIER, LE CANADA ATLANTIQUE<br />
<br />
Contrat d’un an (avec possibilité de prolongation)<br />
<br />
Le sentier Transcanadien recherche un Coordonnateur de projet de sentier expérimenté pour une période de 12 mois afin de participer à l’achèvement des travaux du sentier Transcanadien dans les provinces du Canada atlantique.<br />
<br />
Relevant directement du Responsable du développement du Sentier de l’Est du Canada, vous participerez à la coordination et au développement du Sentier dans les provinces du Canada atlantique pour réaliser le raccordement du Sentier d’ici décembre 2016. Les candidats doivent résider dans la région de Halifax ou être disposés à déménager à leurs frais. La personne retenue travaillera de son domicile et relèvera directement du Responsable du développement du Sentier des provinces de l'Est du Canada.<br />

Tel un autodidacte énergique et extraverti, vous possédez l’expérience pour développer les capacités communautaires et établir des relations avec un grand nombre de groupes et d’individus. Vous avez un sens de l’analyse critique, les compétences de gestion, de planification de projet et vous pouvez démontrer une expérience concrète dans ces secteurs. Vous êtes un négociateur déterminé, un coéquipier convaincu et un organisateur très efficace.<br />

RESPONSABILITÉS PRINCIPALES <br />
• Fournir le soutien pour la progression du Sentier;<br />
• Travailler avec le Responsable du déploiement des tronçons routiers du Sentier pour la mise en œuvre de la stratégie routière du Sentier et l’obtention de l’appui des groupes communautaires et des différents paliers de gouvernement;<br />
• Surveiller l’avancement des projets et informer des enjeux le Responsable du développement du Sentier;<br />
• Aider le Responsable du développement du Sentier et les partenaires provinciaux pour la révision, la validation et la transmission des demandes de subventions au Sentier;<br />
• S’assurer que les livraisons du projet (y compris les ententes de financement, les rapports, preuves de signalisation, lignes directrices de reconnaissance du Sentier, etc.) sont administrées correctement et reçues par le Sentier;<br />
• Au nom du Sentier et des partenaires provinciaux, inspecter périodiquement les projets de sentiers, concourir à l’achèvement des demandes de financement au Sentier et identifier les sources potentielles de financement;<br />
• Assister aux événements du Sentier et aux réunions des partenaires et organiser des visites sur le Sentier au besoin;<br />
• Travailler avec l’Officier de la signalisation du Sentier et les gouvernements pour l’exécution du programme de signalisation du Sentier;<br />

• Autonome, énergique et motivé, vous avez de l’expérience pour bâtir une force communautaire et établir des relations avec un éventail de groupes et d'individus.<br />
