Job Description:<br />
<br />
The Environmental Outreach Coordinator will implement communication and outreach activities for Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) and the Stewardship Association of Municipalities (SAM). Duties will involve networking and collaborating with community partners, planning and facilitating community stewardship events and activities, attend and network at key trade conferences, developing promotional and educational materials, maintaining SAMs online social media profile and website development, and planning and implementing a cavity nest box program in collaboration with volunteer stewards. Overnight travel during out of office hours is required.<br />

Anticipated Start Date: July 6th, 2015 <br />
End Date: March 31st, 2016 – with possible extension<br />
<br />
Hours: 35 hours/week. Daytime business hours Monday – Friday (some evenings and weekends required)<br />
<br />
Qualifications: Applicants must<br />
• Have enthusiasm for the outdoors, wildlife and habitat conservation<br />
• Have experience delivering environmental education and communication programs<br />
• Possess excellent organizational, writing, presentation and interpersonal skills<br />
• Have experience with project development, implementation and administration as well as in writing proposals, plans and project reports<br />
• Be competent with various computer applications, experience in graphic design and webpage development preferable<br />
• Be energetic and love working with the public and children<br />
• Be a team player as well as independently motivated<br />
• Have demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a professional manner<br />
• Be knowledgeable of the objectives of the Stewardship Association of Municipalities Inc.<br />
• Hold a minimum of a Bachelors’ degree in a related field such as Environmental Studies<br />
• Have access to a reliable private vehicle and valid class 5 driver’s license<br />
• Possess valid first aid and CPR training<br />
<br />
Other Requirements: Upon hiring, a certificate of conduct and driver’s abstract is also required.<br />
