The St. Andrews Farmers’ Market has been a Thursday morning outdoor community hub for 43 years! It’s a place where New Brunswick Artisans, Local Food Entrepreneurs and Farmers share their best with the wider Charlotte County Community.<br />
<br />
The Market is open every Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. rain or shine from late May to late September. The St. Andrews Farmers’ Market Association may host several markets outside the regular market season, i.e. Indulge Festival in October & the Christmas Market etc.<br />
<br />
This position provides managerial support to various constituencies within the Association and requires someone with a proactive and positive attitude and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.<br />
<br />
The Manager is the first point of contact for our members, prospective members, community leaders and our Board.<br />
<br />
Position Details:<br />
<br />
The Manager will manage all aspects of on- and off-site Market operations including:<br />
• The opening and closing of the market which includes: Booking of vendors, vendor placement, booking of musicians & community groups, posting signage prior to and day of market.<br />
• Recruiting, supervising and coordinating Market volunteers.<br />
• Conduct vendor registration. Submit vendor applications to the Board of Directors.<br />
• Provide general assistance to community representatives and Market patrons and maintaining good relations with town staff, vendors and the public.<br />
• Ensuring that the Market and Town rules are being followed by all.<br />
• Correspond with vendors and some minor bookkeeping.<br />
• Identifying Market growth and promotion opportunities and promoting the Market through social media, the Market website, a Market Newsletter, and direct community outreach. Responsible for all forms of advertising. (Collaborating with the Treasurer)<br />
• Attending market committee meetings, board meetings and assisting with other duties as necessary and as time allows.<br />

Qualifications:<br />
• The Manager must possess a high degree of initiative and exercise discretion when handling details of a confidential and critical nature.<br />
• Community outreach and marketing experience are assets.<br />
• Motivated to improve current working practices and take ownership of responsibilities.<br />
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.<br />
• Experience with customer service, event planning, management and working in busy environments.<br />
• Ability to work well in a team with people from different backgrounds and with diverse personalities.<br />
• Adaptable, creative and willing to learn.<br />
• Dependable and punctual with good time management and organizational skills.<br />
• Ability to creatively and thoughtfully solve problems in a diplomatic and fair fashion.<br />
• Experience with Microsoft Office and access to the internet and social media is critical.<br />
<br />
The Market Manager will report to the President and/or the Vice President of the St. Andrews Farmers’ Market Association Board of Directors.<br />
