Based in rural New Brunswick, the FBC demonstration site has ongoing energy efficiency retrofits and infrastructure efficiency upgrades. We are also heavily involved in finding, promoting, and demonstrating practical renewable energy solutions. You are an excited, capable, and sustainability-minded individual. You are organized and efficient, and demonstrate excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills. However, you are also able to work independently and show remarkable drive and initiative. You are able to meet deadlines under pressure and produce deliverables outlined by your supervisor.<br />
<br />
Responsibilities: <br />
• Assist in the research, acquisition, and installation of renewable energy systems<br />
• Document the retrofitting process<br />
• Develop climate change adaptation educational events and other pedagogical activities<br />
• Assist with RE Hub case studies through Northwest New Brunswick<br />
• Facilitate public education events<br />
• Assist with FBC events planning<br />
<br />
The RE Apprentice will work closely with and report directly to the Renewable Energy Program Coordinator.<br />
<br />
Skills and Job Requirements: <br />
• Post-secondary education related to: engineering, renewable energy technology, green energy solutions, electrician, computer sciences, environmental sciences is preferred.<br />
• First Aid and CPR-C training is an asset.<br />
• English proficiency required. Bilingualism (English and French) is preferred.<br />
• Summer apprentices must be able to travel to Glassville, NB from Fredericton, NB as necessary throughout the contract period.<br />

Eligibility: <br />
<br />
Applicants must have been enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary educational institution for the term immediately preceding their application (Winter 2016) and must be intending to return to full-time studies at an educational institution in the term immediately following the end of the contract (Fall 2016).<br />
