Job Description:<br />
<br />
The ACORN Multimedia Outreach Assistant will provide support to ACORN's team by promoting and advertising ACORN's outreach efforts, from regional farmer trainings to organic consumer events. With a focus on social media and online tools, the Multimedia Outreach Assistant will work to build community awareness of local organic food options across Atlantic Canada.<br />

Specific tasks will include:<br />
• Build ACORN's social media presence by sharing dynamic content through the organization's various platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram)<br />
• Update ACORN's Online Organic Directory with point-of-sale information and promote the enhanced tool to consumers<br />
• Encourage participation in Organic Week by reaching out to to retailers, restaurants and producers across the Maritimes and supporting their activities <br />
• Support with ACORN’s on-going projects and event planning, including Atlantic Farmshare Network, Grow A Farmer Program, Seed Program, etc<br />
<br />
Qualifications:<br />
• Strong interest in organic food and agriculture<br />
• Excellent written and oral communication skills<br />
• Experience with various social and multimedia tools<br />
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team<br />
• Experience with Macs would be considered an asset<br />
<br />
Eligible Applicants must:<br />
• Have been registered as full-time student in the previous academic year and ?intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year.<br />
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred.<br />
• Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.<br />
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada.<br />

37.5 hours/week at $12.00/hour for a 10-week contract with negotiable start date.<br />
The successful candidate will work out of ACORN’s office in Sackville, NB.<br />
