Falls Brook Centre (FBC) is looking for a confident, creative, and highly talented individual to be our Education Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have post-secondary training in education, or a related field, providing experience with program design, implementation and evaluation. They are an excellent communicator who enjoys collaborative projects and an intimate team environment.<br />
<br />
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Education Coordinator works to conceptualize, design, and implement educational programming across FBCs four thematic priority outcomes (Local Food, Renewable Energy, Biodiversity & Thriving Communities) targeting public/ private schools, youth, and lifelong learners within the Saint John River Watershed Region and in selected international communities. Working with FBC staff, the Education Coordinator is responsible for: developing FBCs holistic education philosophy, compiling, delivering and proliferating educational material to targeted audiences both on and off-site, developing educational products for sale, developing Falls Brook Centres demonstration site as an education tool, public advocacy, funding acquisition and fund management.<br />

Within this contract period, your responsibilities will be as follows:<br />
<br />
Public/Private Education:<br />
Maintain and investigate opportunities to deliver curriculum linked programming<br />
Develop/format education materials in a consistent FBC brand<br />
Develop/organize education curriculum ensuring k-12 applicability<br />
Collaborate with like-minded organizations to investigate/pursue complementary programming<br />
<br />
On-site Activities:<br />
Identify & pursue educational opportunities linked to site development<br />
Develop, in conjunction with other staff, educational workshop series and certified courses<br />
Develop programming for education field trips, camps and retreats<br />
<br />
Off-site Activities:<br />
Investigate/pursue educational programming opportunities outside the public school system within the Saint John River Watershed Region & in selected international communities<br />
Attend education related events within the Saint John River Watershed Region, providing appropriate programming/ services<br />
<br />
Fund Seeking/Management:<br />
Investigate and pursue funding that directly relates to FBCs education mission<br />
Work in collaboration with FBC staff who have acquired funding which includes an education mandate<br />
Manage acquired funding and fulfill all related obligations in conjunction with the Executive Director<br />
<br />
Other:<br />
Assist with general operation of FBC demonstration site<br />
Assist other staff during major organizational events<br />
Other tasking as assigned by the Executive Director<br />
<br />
Eligibility:<br />
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada<br />
Bilingualism (English and French) is preferred<br />
Eligibility for the Youth Employment Fund is an asset<br />
Must be unemployed, underemployed, or working less than 15 hours per week<br />
Must be a resident of New Brunswick<br />
Individuals must be between 18-29 (at least 18 years old but less than 30 years old at the time of application)<br />
Must be a graduate of a recognized post-secondary institution within the last four years<br />
Have not previously participated in a Youth Employment Fund placement<br />
The Education Coordinator must able to travel to the FBC Satellite Office in Fredericton, NB from the FBC Demonstration Site in Glassville, NB (or vice versa) throughout the contract period<br />
