Position: At Sea Observer<br />
Organization: Atlantic Catch Data Ltd.<br />
Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia<br />
<br />
Atlantic Catch Data is looking to hire and train people for immediate employment as an At Sea Observer to service the areas listed below. Persons who reside in or near these communities who would like to work in the commercial fisheries, please apply for this position.<br />

Areas Required: <br />
<br />
Pubnico, Shelburne, Yarmouth, Halifax, Eastern Shore<br />
Cape Breton - Sydney, Glace Bay, Louisbourg<br />
<br />
Job Description: <br />
Work on board commercial fishing vessels<br />
Collect scientific data and monitor fishing activities<br />
<br />
Term: Seasonal Employment. Will be very busy during the in-season fishing months.<br />
<br />
Qualifications: Mandatory<br />
Understand fundamental mathematics<br />
Is not an employee of a fisherman or fish processor<br />
Is not involved with transporting or commercial brokering of fish<br />
Has grade 12 or equivalent work related experience in fisheries<br />
No criminal record (Government check will be conducted)<br />
Must have reliable transportation<br />

Conditions: <br />
Must meet all requirements to obtain government certification<br />
Participate in a training course<br />
Pass a certification exam at end of course<br />
<br />
Wages & Position: Commensurate with experience<br />
