Position: Research and Administrative Assistant<br />

Wage rate: $ 15.00 /hr<br />
Duration of employment: 9 weeks, 30 hrs/week<br />
Start Date: June 26, 2017<br />

Work Tasks & Responsibilities:<br />
<br />
1) Conduct online research and write articles about sustainable home design, renovation, and products;<br />
<br />
2) Assist with data collection for a study of the solar energy industry;<br />
<br />
3) Assist with communications with solar industry stakeholders and community organizations;<br />
<br />
4) Help design solar energy projects for community organizations;<br />
<br />
6) Update website content;<br />
<br />
Eligibility<br />
• Full time student – returning to studies in September.<br />
• Youth age 15 to 30<br />
<br />
Requirements:<br />
• The job has aspects ranging from technical to writing, and from research to administration, so the applicant can be from a wide range of educational backgrounds, with a demonstrated interest in sustainable energy work.<br />
• Student in Energy Sustainability Engineering Technology, Engineering, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, or Business Management.<br />
• Experience or demonstrated interest in renewable energy development is an asset;<br />
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with periodic check-ins.<br />
<br />
This position is based at an office in Halifax, Monday to Thursday, with some possible travel and some flexibility around doing a portion of the work from other locations.<br />
