INDIGENOUS CLIMATE ACTION FUNDING COORDINATOR<br />
<br />
Indigenous Climate Action (ICA) is looking for someone with passion, who enjoys working on a team, setting precedents, and is committed to true Indigenous Climate Justice to serve as its funding coordinator.<br />
<br />
ICA is a newly formed Indigenous-led initiative whose goal is to fill the gaps between the lived experiences of Indigenous Peoples and policies and strategies being developed to address climate change amplified by an Indigenous worldview. POSITION SUMMARY<br />
<br />
Indigenous Climate Action is seeking a confident, experienced, motivated, and passionate Funding Coordinator to provide the necessary financial resources to ensure the organization will continue its outreach, programming, and missions. The Funding Coordinator must be a team player and will be responsible for procuring overall funding for the organization under the direction of the ICA Director.<br />

The position requires demonstrated competency in the following areas:<br />
Best practices in foundation, corporate, government and grassroots fundraising and proposal writing<br />
Innovative and creative fundraising approaches including online fundraising approaches<br />
Donor relations with existing and new funders<br />
Canadian granting systems and laws<br />
Online communications and organizing<br />
Verbal and written communications<br />
Research & Report Writing<br />
Strategic development, planning, and planning<br />
Organizational, analytical, and time management<br />
Public speaking<br />
Climate justice and Indigenous peoples rights, cultures and histories<br />
Environmental justice and practices of anti-oppression<br />
Working independently and remotely<br />
<br />
The Funding Coordinators duties are as follows:<br />
Research all avenues and sources of possible ICA grants and funding<br />
Strategically create and develop grants and proposals for ICA programs, initiatives, and sustainability<br />
Develop and engage in creative and innovative fundraising strategies<br />
Create and maintain positive donor relationships<br />
Creation of funding reports, including public communications for audits and public reports<br />
Work closely with the ICA director and report to the Steering Committee when required<br />
Other assigned duties<br />
<br />
Qualifications<br />
2 - 5 years of proven grant and proposal writing skills or equivalent experience<br />
Demonstrated positive experience with diverse funders<br />
Post Secondary education an asset<br />
Knowledge of accounting and budgeting<br />
Ability to take direction and work independently with little or no supervision<br />
Computer literate including google programs, excel and other budgetary programs<br />
Desire to efficiently work as a team player<br />
Ability to travel<br />
Member of an Indigenous community and fluency in an Indigenous language an asset<br />
<br />
The position is full time and entails a 37.5-hour work week. However, some travel and evening/ weekend hours may be required. The successful candidate must be willing to be flexible and work hours required to meet ICA expectations. A Criminal Record Check along with Child and Adult Abuse Registry checks are required conditions of employment. ICA can assist with this process if need be.<br />
<br />
SALARY: $45,000 - 55,000 annual salary (bi-weekly $1875 - 2290) depending on qualifications<br />
