Indigenous Climate Action (ICA) is looking for someone with passion, who enjoys working on a team, setting precedents and is committed to true Indigenous Climate Justice to serve as its Part Time Administrator.<br />
<br />
ICA is a newly formed Indigenous-led initiative whose goal is to fill the gaps between the lived experiences of Indigenous Peoples and policies and strategies being developed to address climate change amplified by an Indigenous worldview. POSITION SUMMARY<br />
<br />
Indigenous Climate Action is seeking a skilled, motivated, and passionate Part Time Administrator to coordinate, develop, organize and manage ICA operations. The Part Time administrator works under the direction of the Director.<br />
<br />
The position requires demonstrated competency in the following areas:<br />
• Verbal and written communications<br />
• Interpersonal relations<br />
• Budget and organizational management<br />
• Report writing<br />
• Coordination and time management skills<br />
• Online communications and schedule coordination<br />
• Familiarity with climate justice and Indigenous peoples rights, cultures and histories<br />
• Familiarity with environmental justice and practices of anti-oppression<br />
• Working independently and remotely<br />
<br />
The Part Time Administrator’s duties are as follows:<br />
• Work closely with the ICA director and report to the Steering Committee when required<br />
• Assist in ICA logistics such as minute writing; documenting, distributing, and filing ICA forms; booking room rentals, catering and other services.<br />
• Organize Google folders and internal communications<br />
• Develop contracts and reporting templates<br />
• Gather report information<br />
• Coordinate materials for annual audits<br />
• Serve as a liaison to the ICA fiscal sponsor and ensure consistency and quality with all financial administration.<br />
• Design and edit ICA financial documentation<br />
• Manage ICA payroll, tax payments, records of employment, etc.<br />
• ICA budget maintenance and management in areas such as travel, spending, etc.<br />
• Support the Communications coordinator with ICA internal communications such as the organization and coordination of Steering Committee meetings<br />
• Other assigned duties<br />

Qualifications<br />
• Organizational management competences<br />
• Accounting and business management certification and/or training an asset<br />
• Post Secondary education in business administration an asset<br />
• Ability to take direction and work independently with little or no supervision<br />
• Computer literate<br />
• Advanced use of Google products and online communication systems<br />
• Basic accounting skills<br />
• Desire to efficiently work as a team player<br />
• Member of an Indigenous community and fluency in an Indigenous language an asset<br />
<br />
The position is part time based on 20 hours per week . However, some evening and weekend work may be required. The successful candidate must be willing to be flexible and work hours required to meet ICA expectations. A Criminal Record Check along with Child and Adult Abuse Registry checks are required conditions of employment. ICA can assist with this process if need be.<br />
<br />
SALARY: Hourly rate at $20 - 27/hr based on qualifications<br />
<br />
