The Opportunity & Qualifications:<br />
<br />
Summerhill is exploring the opportunity of building the capacity of our project management team in Halifax, Nova Scotia and invite strong, bright, entrepreneurial candidates with over three (3) years of energy efficiency program experience and a willingness to take on challenging programs and new opportunities to apply. Summerhill operates in Atlantic Canada, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and the north eastern United States. Depending on the caliber and fit of candidate and the work that is secured over the next year, there may be opportunities in other jurisdictions.<br />
<br />
A highly qualified candidate would demonstrate knowledge in the following categories:<br />
Demand Side Management<br />
Energy conservation programs including relevant provincial residential and commercial incentive programs<br />
Commercial and residential energy audits<br />
<br />
Professional designations including Professional Engineer (P.Eng), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Engineering Technologist (CET), or others that may be relevant are considered assets.<br />
<br />
Role & Responsibilities:<br />
<br />
The Project Coordinator provides direction and leadership for their respective project(s), is responsible for ensuring cohesive and consistent project delivery on time, on budget, on target, with a successful team and to the clients satisfaction within established quality standards. The Project Coordinator is responsible for project planning, implementation and close-out processes while managing various project deliverables.<br />
<br />
Project Management Responsibilities<br />
Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.<br />
Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.<br />
Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.<br />
Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client (internal or external clients).<br />
Effectively applies Summerhill methodology and enforces project quality standards.<br />
Minimizes organizational exposure and risk on project(s).<br />
Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.<br />
Ensures project learnings and outcomes are captured and reported for future reference.<br />
Provides direct supervision to all subordinate members of the project team.<br />
<br />
Project Accounting<br />
Understands basic revenue models, P/L, and cost-to-completion projections and makes decisions accordingly.<br />
Ensures project legal documents are completed and signed.<br />
Tracks and reports team hours and expenses.<br />
Manages project budget, including monthly review and reconciliation.<br />
Understands project pricing model and billing procedures.<br />
Ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors project receivables.<br />
Follows up with clients, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices.<br />
<br />
Business Development<br />
Identifies business development and "add-on" sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project.<br />
Shares opportunities for project or client growth with appropriate Director.<br />
Effectively conveys corporate message in both written and verbal business development discussions.<br />
Develops project budgets for new project design based on knowledge of delivery and resource requirements.<br />
<br />
Communication<br />
Facilitates team and client meetings effectively.<br />
Holds regular status meetings with project team.<br />
Keeps project team well informed of changes to project scope and plan.<br />
Effectively communicates relevant project information to project stakeholders, internal and external clients.<br />
Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations.<br />
Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.<br />
Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.<br />
<br />
Stakeholder Management<br />
Manages day-to-day interaction with project stakeholders (internal and external customers, vendors and other interested parties).<br />
Develops lasting relationships with client personnel that foster ongoing relationships.<br />
Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs.<br />
<br />
