Position: Climate Change Adaptation Project Assistant<br />

At Nature NB, our mission is to celebrate, conserve, and protect New Brunswick’s natural heritage through education, networking, and collaboration. We are looking for an energetic, organized summer student to assist with our ongoing climate change adaptation program. The student will work to help ensure our communities remain safe and resilient in the face of a changing climate. If you’re passionate about climate change, nature, and related topics, this may be the ideal position for you! What you will do:<br />
• Support coordination of the Maritime Natural Infrastructure Collaborative (MNIC), a multi-sector group of organizations working to explore natural solutions to the impacts of climate change;<br />
• Conduct research on natural solutions to climate change;<br />
• Develop communications materials on climate change, ecosystem services, and other related topics;<br />
• Assist with project management, meetings, and workshops;<br />
• Participate in peer learning and training opportunities to grow personal knowledge and expertise;<br />
• Provide administrative support to Nature NB staff.<br />
<br />
What is required: <br />
• Returning as a student to a post-secondary education institution full-time;<br />
• Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or legally entitled to work in Canada;<br />
• Be no more than 30 years of age at the start of employment; Driver’s license<br />
• Background in environmental studies/science, planning, geography, biology, or related discipline;<br />
• Project and time management skills, ability to work independently in group setting;<br />
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, etc.);<br />
<br />
What we would like you to have:<br />
• Keen interest in conservation, ecosystem service science, climate change adaptation, and land-use planning;<br />
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously;<br />
• Experience with GIS considered an asset;<br />
• Bilingualism considered an asset;<br />
• Willingness to work some evenings/weekends.<br />

Details:<br />
• Job located in Sackville, NB for 35 hours per week for 8 weeks, beginning May 29, 2018.<br />
