Position: Assistant Outreach Coordinator:<br />

8-week Term Position<br />
<br />
Tasks and Responsibilities:<br />
• Connect with community organizations to identify community needs and partnership opportunities<br />
• Assist with developing programming opportunities for Project (RE)Construct, Windpool Commoning and future events<br />
• Provide administrative support as needed to “Project (RE)Construct”, “Windpool Commoning” and “Truth and Reconciliation Café” Campaigns<br />
• Aid in development of Volunteer Recruitment and Engagement Strategy<br />
• Related tasks as determined by NSPIRG upon consultation with employee<br />
<br />
Skills and Assets<br />
• General knowledge of social justice-oriented organizations within Nova Scotia<br />
• Experience running or assisting with event management/implementation (paid or volunteer)<br />
• Previous management or volunteer coordination experience considered an asset<br />
• Passion for creating space for marginalized people and groups<br />
• Desire to learn about program development within the non-profit sector<br />
<br />
Rate of Pay: $660 bi-weekly, approximate hours 20-30 per week. Flexibility available.<br />

(a) be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;<br />
<br />
(b) have been registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year;<br />
<br />
(c) intend to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year;<br />
<br />
(d) be a student in a secondary, post-secondary, vocational or technical program;<br />
<br />
(e) be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act* and;<br />
<br />
(f) is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations<br />
<br />
* International students are not eligible.<br />
