About ACORN:<br />

Since 2000, the Atlantic Canadian Organic Regional Network (ACORN) has been the key organization for information on organic agriculture, eating organics, and connecting all the parts together. From seed to farmer to consumer, ACORN serves as a network and a resource for all Atlantic Canadians interested in organic food and agriculture.<br />
<br />
Job Description:<br />
<br />
This role provides the opportunity to lead ACORN’s consumer education programming through the creation of marketing materials developed with and for organic producers and the delivery of direct-to-consumer training. ACORN’s Outreach & Communications Coordinator is also charged with managing all ACORN’s communications, relaying not only the “local and organic better together” message, but also keeping ACORN’s membership and broader network informed and engaged with ACORN events, resources and relevant news.<br />
<br />
Specific responsibilities will include:<br />
• Working with a marketing consultant to develop and execute a new Atlantic regional organic marketing strategy<br />
• Coordinating consumer-facing “Organic Ambassador” webinar series for Organic Week and other consumer education/engagement opportunities throughout the year<br />
• Creatively managing all ACORN’s digital media, including monthly enews, website and social media<br />
• Leading management of ACORN’s quarterly print member newsletter, including content, design, ads and delivery<br />
• Working together with other staff to coordinate special member initiatives (e.g. Member Meet-Ups or recruitment campaigns)<br />
<br />
Desired Qualifications:<br />
• Strong interest and/or knowledge or experience in local organic food and agriculture<br />
• Excellent written and oral communication skills<br />
• Professional experience with social and multimedia promotional tools<br />
• Communications and/or marketing experience and/or knowledge<br />
• Proven project management and organizational skills<br />
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team<br />
<br />
The following would be considered assets:<br />
• Experience with Macs and related programs<br />
• Non-profit experience<br />
• French communication skills<br />
• Familiarity with organic sector and/or ACORN<br />
<br />
Job Details:<br />
<br />
This is a full-time, 15-month maternity leave position starting July 16, 2018 that may have some possibility for extension (up to 18 months). The selected candidate will work out of ACORN’s office in Sackville, New Brunswick. Compensation includes participation in ACORN’s Benefits program.<br />
