Beach Cleanup June 10th!</span></h1>

font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">(June 6, 2018) Our annual Beach Cleanup,
scheduled for June 3rd, was postponed due to high winds that kept the boats
transporting volunteers in port. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

font-family:"Arial","sans-serif""><o:p> </o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;
font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Our Beach Cleanup is now re-scheduled to
SUNDAY JUNE 10^th. We need volunteers to help with this event, which
is <span style="mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">the largest and longest-running
Beach Cleanup in the Maritimes.</span> Since 1991, volunteers have collected
nearly <b>13,000 bags of garbage and recyclables</b> from the beaches of the
“green jewel” in Halifax Harbour.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

picking up litter that washes ashore on McNa<b>bs Island Provincial Park </b><span style="mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">in Halifax Harbour!<b> </b></span>Severe
winter storms have brought more plastics, styrofoam and marine debris onto the
beaches of the provincial park and national historic site. Even parts of a raft
or buoy from the Maltese-registered container ship, CMA CGM Loire, ended up on
McNabs Island this winter. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

Eventbrite.com. Volunteers will travel to the island from Murphys Cable Wharf
on the Halifax Waterfront leaving at 9:30 AM or from A&M Sea Charters in
Fisherman’s Cove in Eastern Passage leaving at 9:30 and 10:30 AM. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
